Boom J's Cuisine draws glowing feedback for a lineup of jerk chicken, BBQ chicken, pineapple chicken, fried chicken and oxtail, with the jerk chicken described as outstanding and finger licking, the curry goat called authentic and the best in Montreal, and the oxtail also receiving high praise; the curry goat with rice and plantains is praised, as are the jerk chicken wraps and the jerk poutine; many note the food is fresh, tasty and consistently good, and the service is friendly with a family like atmosphere; a few reviews mention a boneless chicken roti being too salty and some concern that Caribbean options in Montreal are uneven, but overall Boom J's Cuisine is seen as a top Jamaican spot in Montreal and a place many would return to.
The roti is so tasty & it filled me up. My fiancé had the jerk chicken & it was flavourful. We are going there again. It is clean & the people who work there are very nice & friendly.
Their jerk chicken is flavorless & the portion is way too small for the price the only thing I like getting there are their patties & they're not even made by them I feel like they have a big problem with reheating food & that makes their food really bland even the patties that I just talked about which they buy frozen & heat them in store, one time I bought got 2 beef patties & somehow they were like expired & were straight blocks with dangerous tasting meat so I think they just reheated them multiple days in a row & the people working there are not professionnal

The place looks like a dump from the outside. The inside is however well decorated & organized. The patties were good but the veggie (pictured here) needs massive work. Should actually have more & maybe filled with spinach or something. Not canned carrots & pees.
I love this place. The people working there are kind & professional. The cuisine is deliciously amazing. It's a place where you know as soon as you enter that everything's going to be great. More, the owner is often there in person, preparing all the culinary delights offered. I haven't tried everything on their menu; but I plan to in the not to distant future. :)

By far one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants in Verdun. Always delicious & prices are very affordable for the quantity. Food quality is top tier. I could eat there everyday ?
