About

Boom J's Cuisine specializes in authentic Jamaican preparations that prioritize traditional spice blends and slow-cooked protein techniques. The menu centers on staple Caribbean flavors, featuring signature jerk chicken seasoned with scotch bonnet peppers and pimento, alongside tender oxtail stews served with fluffy rice and peas. Review Summary

Reviews describe Boom J's Cuisine as a vibrant spot with bold flavors, generous portions, and a focus on Jamaican staples like jerk chicken, oxtail, and BBQ chicken, along with a notably hot sauce that delights hot sauce lovers. The menu is praised for authentic tasting dishes and consistent flavors across visits, with curry goat and jerk chicken repeatedly highlighted as favorites and jerk poutine and stew beef also earning praise. Large orders for staff or branches were well received, while friendly and attentive service is commonly noted. A few critiques mention a boneless chicken roti that was overly salty and tasted more like stew chicken in a roti skin, and some respondents feel Caribbean food in Montreal can be hard to find, adding a note of disappointment. Overall, the collection of reviews points to a strong Jamaican-inspired experience with standout items that keep customers coming back.

We ordered lunch for our staff at work & the food was phenomenal! We had orders of jerk chicken, BBQ chicken, pineapple chicken, fried chicken & oxtail. Everyone had positive feedback. Jermaine was very pleasant & kind. Highly recommend! The jerk chicken was outstanding (almost ate the bones 😆)

Second time going & this place is the real deal! I stand by what I said the first time. If you're a hot sauce lover, the Boom J's hot sauce is SERIOUS. Like scotch bonnet hot 🌶? Love it!

Highlight: Jerk Chicken
Parboiled rice, saugy tasteless veggies, oversweetened coleslaw, stale plantains. Overall, an insult to Jamaican food. The rice was precooked, big nono for any ethnicity. To top it off, 600$ for a subpar, to say the least, catering. Please, do not mistake this place for typical carribean food, if you cannot get RICE straight, it's clearly a lack of passion.

I ordered a boneless chicken roti & it was super salty. Not even curry it had 1 scoop of so called curry potatoes & a few scoops of meat however tasted more like stew chicken in a roti skin . Come on guys what happened . Seems no where in montreal for carribean food is good anymore 😕 very disappointing
