I ordered the Seekh Thali & Non-Veg Thali, but the food didn't meet my expectations. The seekhs were too dry & just spicy without any real flavor. There were no onions or salad served-which is unusual for this kind of meal.
The atmosphere wasn't great either. It was uncomfortable seeing Uber drivers not being treated well while they waited for orders, & I found it shocking that there were no hand sanitizers available anywhere-especially in a food establishment. Cleanliness & a welcoming vibe are just as important as the food, & unfortunately, this place fell short on all fronts.View more
Ordered takeout from here. Butter chicken was delicious! Chana masala & mixed vegetables were small portions & a bit too spicy. There was no veggie thali plate available on uber eats but i see it on the menu here.View more
Bombay Mahal in Montreal is a true gem for non-vegetarian lovers. The rich aroma of authentic Indian spices greets you as you enter, promising a memorable dining experience. The menu boasts a delightful array of dishes, with the butter chicken & lamb curry standing out for their flavorful & tender meats. The staff is warm & welcoming, ensuring every guest feels at home. The portions are generous & the presentation is top-notch, making it an excellent choice for both casual meals & special occasions. Whether you're a fan of spicy or mild dishes, Bombay Mahal offers a perfect balance that caters to all palates. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Indian cuisine in Montreal!View more
Update July 2024: This place definitely changed owner/management. Now it sucks. From the rudest attitude of the woman with glasses serving, to the food & the lack of taste. We used to eat here every week because it was delicious & the workers were so nice. They even knew what we liked. Now, all of that has disappeared. Instead, we have a rude woman who served whatever she wanted without asking. & she got so annoyed when I refused to take what she dumped on our plates. No tamarind sauce. No taste & just dry chicken. If you want to lose customers, you are in the right direction. Deeply disappointed. -/---------------- I just ate there & is delicious. At first glance I thought it was some fast food joint & I kept walking. But nothing convinced me over Sherbrooke west so I went back to the Bombay & wow! The chicken tandoori with spinach & other spicy green sauce was awesome. The naans were hot & buttery. The salad was fresh & help a bit with this spicy & delicious plate. Definitely, I will return to try something else.View more
The Lamb Vindaloo here is amazing. Very spicy, savoury, & delicious. I originally found this place on delivery apps, but I've since dined in a couple of times over the past 2 years, & the table service has improved immensely since the first time I came. I've tried several other Indian restaurants, & Bombay Mahal might not have the flashiest decor or the largest interior, but the food quality is unparalleled, & so consistent. This is my favourite local restaurant, & I'll be coming back often.View more
Me & my family really enjoyed the food & the service, even if a friend of mine didn't want spicy food they tried to find a solutionView more
