Bofinger is SMOKIN. Our famous NATURALLY Smoked Meats are prepared in a true fusion of Southern/Quebec style: Dry rubbed and smoked with maple wood for up to 24 hours. Then, to ignite your taste buds, it is basted with you choice of home-made sauces. All made with no additives or preservatives. At Bofinger, we smoke it slow, cause we smoke it naturally.
Overall, reviews describe Bofinger BBQ Smokehouse as delivering authentic American style barbecue with tender ribs, brisket and pulled pork, solid sauces, and hearty sides at good value, while the service is repeatedly praised as friendly and the decor fitting the cuisine. Some diners report occasional misses such as ribs that were a bit tough, a dry burger or overly salted fries, but these are outweighed by praise for freshness, flavor and portion size. One reviewer even frames the experience as elevating local barbecue, and many say they would return to try more dishes, especially the ribs, brisket and wings.
I have been going to Bofinger since it opened in 2007 & I love everything on the menu. My favourite meal are the smoked pork ribs with honey barbecue sauce 😋. I have had southern barbecue in many different cities & these are by far the best I have ever had. The service is also impeccable, Amir is one of the friendliest people I have met & takes great pride in his work! 10/10
Was skeptical of barbecue here in Montreal but I was pleasantly surprised. If you want a taste of American barbecue, give this place a shot. Staff are welcoming & friendly.

A Traumatic Encounter with Culinary Excellence at Bofinger BBQ
Let me preface this by saying, if you value mediocrity, if you cherish the bland, & if your palate recoils at the mere suggestion of genuine flavor, then for the love of all that is unspectacular, DO NOT go to Bofinger BBQ in Montreal.
Consider yourselves warned. My recent visit was nothing short of an assault on my carefully cultivated apathy towards barbecue. I went in expecting the usual, the forgettable, the'it'll do.' What I received was a gastronomic intervention I didn't ask for & am now, infuriatingly, grateful for.
First, the barbecue ribs. Oh, the utter gall of these ribs! They were so ludicrously tender, so shamelessly falling off the bone, that one wonders if they've bribed the laws of physics. Each bite was a decadent, smoky whisper of perfection, drenched in a sauce that had no business being so profoundly balanced - sweet, tangy, with just enough of a kick to remind you that your taste buds are, in fact, alive & currently being exploited for pleasure. It was an insult to every dry, chewy rib I've ever reluctantly consumed.
& the French fries? Preposterous! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, & seasoned with such devilish precision that they rendered ketchup entirely redundant. Who needs a condiment when the fry itself is a masterpiece? It's almost offensive in its simplicity & flawless execution.
Then there was the mac & cheese. This wasn't just mac & cheese; it was a creamy, cheesy, carb-laden conspiracy against willpower. Rich, comforting, & dangerously addictive, it clung to every noodle with an unapologetic intensity. It's the kind of side dish that actively tries to sabotage your main course by being equally, if not more, compelling. A true villain, disguised as comfort food.
& finally, the chicken. Juicy, flavorful, with skin that boasted an almost criminal char. It wasn't merely cooked; it was transformed. Each piece was a testament to proper seasoning & masterful grilling, forcing me to confront the harsh reality that I may never look at a rotisserie chicken the same way again.
In conclusion, Bofinger BBQ is a menace. It dares to serve food that is genuinely, unequivocally delicious, thereby raising the bar to an uncomfortably high level. If you enjoy your culinary experiences to be just'fine' or'decent,' then absolutely, unequivocally, avoid Bofinger. You've been warned: your expectations for good barbecue will be irrevocably ruined.
So, I'm giving this 4 stars as a courtesy because I loved the people working here. But being honest, the food was really poorly prepared. The burger was extremely dry & flavorless, & the fries were covered with so much salt that we couldn't eat them. The pork had a very watery sauce & felt also overcooked. The cook here really just needs to season & cook with more carefulness.
We come here regularly for the amazing food & service. Our go-to order is the naturally smoked beef ribs with fries (which are seriously amazing) & a house salad. This time, we also tried the brisket poutine-& it did not disappoint!
The food is always fresh, delicious, & made with care. I have a lot of food sensitivities, & you'd think BBQ might be a challenge-but here, everything feels clean, comforting, & satisfying.
Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a casual place to enjoy truly great food!
We had an absolutely amazing experience at Bofinger. The restaurant has a cozy & delightful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly professional, polite, & friendly. We ordered the pork ribs, & I can confidently say they were some of the best I've ever had. The flavors were exceptional, the quality was outstanding, & you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. Everything, from the taste to the presentation, was absolutely perfect. If you're looking for a top-notch dining experience with excellent service & a welcoming environment, don't miss out on Bofinger. I'll definitely be returning!

Drove an hour from Ontario for the pulled pork sandwich. It was well worth the trip. Totally awesome. We'll definitely be back with friends next time. Service was friendly & quick. Bathroom had no paper towels though being the only problem.
Love the ribs here! Kinda run down place but you don't notice it to much of you eat on the terrace. Marked the service as 2 star since u have to order at the counter but the staff is curious & friendly. I usually eat pretty spicy foods but their crazy hot tub sauce is doable but past my comfort limit.

I was there for my birthday with my family. Amazing food, very friendly owner & overall great vibes. The amount of food we got for our money was also surprising & we had enough for breakfast the next day. Highly recommended, a hidden gem!
Great deal for lunch you have to go! & always love the pulled pork I sometimes just order the meat & he can customize it. Friendly owner always looking to attend us great service
We had planned an evening at Bar-B-Barn to celebrate my wife's birthday, but it closed early. My wife was set on ribs, so I searched online & found Bofinger. Man, did we get lucky! The owner made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in; Bofinger has a warm, friendly, homey, neighbourhood vibe. There were eight of us, & everyone raved about the delicious food & attentive service. We were all first-timers at Bofinger &, without exception, agreed that we would return to this lovely establishment at the drop of a hat! As we were leaving, the owner asked my permission to kiss the birthday girl's hand, & of course, permission was gladly granted!

Took a friend out for lunch today & had told them how good Bofingers food was. We ordered the pork ribs, fries & salad. The ribs were were not cooked enough, tasted terrible, so bad we could not finsh eating them, what a waste of $50.00, will not go back again.
I went to Bofinger today for lunch with a couple of friends. They recommended this place so we went. Two of my friends ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich with French fries. I ordered roasted chicken breast with fries & another friend ordered pork ribs with fries. I had black cherry soda as a drink. Although I am not a soda drinker at all but I gave this a try & was ok but sweet for me but others may like it. All were satisfied with their orders. What I appreciate that they make fresh french fries, they do not use frozen ones as other restaurants. There was only one man serving. He was the cashier & the cook. We were the first 4 customers & then two others came. Regarding being solo in the restaurant the speed of the service was good & he was nice & cheerful. I knew that with a combo, you get a free drink but from Monday to Friday. The washrooms are clean & the atmosphere of the place is positive & cozy. The playlist songs they had was really good & revealed a good taste in music. All in all I recommend this place, especially for the pork ribs' lovers:)
Amazing friendly service. I wasn’t sure what to order & I think the owner( I forgot to ask his name) helped me to decide. Thank you , it’s nice to know that not all places rush you in & out. Mia
