The arepas are stuffed with ingredients, but overall not a large sandwich despite the heartiness. But overall I was pretty satisfied with the steak one that I got. The meat wasn't of substantial quality but passable, rest of the composition was on point. My disappointment laid in the skimpy portion of plantain, which added $6 to the price...had I know the side portion was that small I would have skipped it. But the plantain was delicious though, perfectly textured through cooking. Service was polite but slow at times. The place looks really nice too, & features a sizable back patio.
I really love Bocadillo, I've been loving it since before they changed locations. The sandwiches are super good & filling & feel very authentic, the sauces are also good, meat is very well cooked in my opinion, the plantains are to die for, I think everyone should try & Arepa from Bocadillo.
If there is one thing i would like to say tho is that it is very expensive, yesterday i got just the sandwich, it was 18 dollars before tax & tip & with tax & tip about 23-24. if you want a combo its about 25 WITHOUT tax & tip.
Don't get me wrong the sandwich is very delicious & is quite filling, but I think the price is too much for what we are getting. The thing is i think i would come back here way more often if it was less expensive. For students, this is unaffordable, for others, it is just overpriced.
Good place, good music, tasty food. But the price is just not acceptable.
56$ for two plates of arepas with 6 pieces of fried plantains & avocado crema. No drinks.
Insane pricing.
We tried the pabellon deluxe & fried plantains. The plantains were enjoyable & perfectly ripe + sweet. The arepa itself, however, was lacking a little. The meat was well marinated but no sauce to bring other flavors. I also knock a star because it was quite pricey. The green sauce they gave on the side was mayo based & less flavorful than I've had before, plus there was no hot sauce. However there was a great atmosphere! We sat in the backyard terrasse which had lots of plants & cute tables. Fun music too! @thehungry.sheep
Best Arepas & friendly service!! The plantains were good but not our favourite, however the yuca & the Pabellón arepa were delicious. Portions were also very generous. Don't forget to ask for more of the green sauce;)
