Bocadillo Bistro is widely celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, stylish decor, and fantastic live Latin music, making it a popular destination for those seeking a fun night out in Montreal. Many visitors praise the authentic Venezuelan flavors, particularly the empanadas, arepas, and cachapas, and appreciate the warm, welcoming nature of the owners and staff. While some diners have noted challenges regarding service speed or portion sizes relative to price, many others have had wonderful experiences marked by friendly, attentive care and consistently delicious food, solidifying its reputation as a great place to gather for music, drinks, and a genuine taste of Venezuelan culture.
I loved it the first time I visited, & since then, it has become my go-to place to enjoy live Latin bands. The service is excellent, the ambiance is wonderful, & the restaurant looks chic & stylish. The food is good-not the best I've had, but definitely enjoyable. Overall, it's a great place for a fun evening, especially if you love live Latin music!
The best restaurant I have been to in a while, a wonderful way to discover venezuelan food which was delicious, especially the arepas & cachapa. Amazing atmosphere for both live music & to watch the world cup games, with plenty of TV screens, even outside! The staff is super friendly & organized as well. Will definitely be coming back!
We planned a birthday party here on a night where they had live music. What an incredible vibe. The owners are so kind & it shows that they love what they do. They created such a welcoming & warm atmosphere for us. The live band was fantastic & the food was delicious. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!! THANK YOU!!!
I had visit recently Bocadillo Bistro, I went to enjoy Venezuelan food & a good band music present it that day . I found the food quantity & quality of dishes no as expect it , combine with a high price .
been Venezuelan myself which travel often & dinning myself in the best Venezuelan restaurants all over the world, I was not impressed .
I feel the food is cater most to the Canadian type of clientele than the Venezuelan type of clientele . Small portion for the entre plates, the cachapa i ordered was uncooked & very thin.
The service was average as the waitress only pass by to the table twice in a 4 hours time , after dinner the waitress never came to removed the plates & I had to call her to do that .
The show that was present it that day was the only highlight of the evening as was great.
I was charge for a non alcoholic mojito almost $14 which I found pricy.
Overall experience was no as expect it .
The team should developed a better size Venezuelan food plate for the main plates that match the hight price tag.
Overall I would give a rate of 2-3 because I enjoy the band as was the only highlight of the evening.
If you are going to see a band which is great music , preferably do so for drinks , as the food quality & quantity is not as expect it .
Food, was much to desire, It has tastedful but not well presented, it miss color in the plate maybe some Pico de Gallo, a salad.
Service, was ok we had to deal with dirty glasses for our sangria, it looked like they had water spots or soap buildup, they took like they were takingout of the dishwasher with out wiping then clean,
Atmosphere, was very nice we wanted to enjoy a good time, we pay $25 pour person to enjoy 1 hour show, we were a group of 20 people family & friend, after the show & between the the show we woulded like to continue dancing, but the music was playing to low, overall we had a great time.
