2e visite à 6 personnes. Tout le monde a passé une excellente soirée. Le dragon vert était toujours WOW mais le 2e dessert aussi.
Everything was excellent & two dishes were even better: the flank steak & its mushroom sauce were a definite WOW as was the passion fruit panacotta.
Had a really great experience at this restaurant. We opted for the à la carte & ordered some entrees, mains & a dessert. We got the pierogies & the shrimp entrees. They were well executed but nothing mind blowing. Our favourite dishes of the night were the duck & the clam & turbot scialatielli. The duck was perfectly cooked & the unique taste of the avocado sauce complimented it well. The pasta was also delicious & my favourite dish of the night. The fish was melt in your mouth & the flavours of the clam came forward. Would highly recommend! The green dragon dessert had such complex components & was very refreshing! You can tell the chefs really put effort into all the dishes. The menu also rotates quite often. Will definitely be back!

Had high expectations for this place after seeing all the glowing reviews. The food was genuinely good, but it's definitely on the pricey side-& some dishes leaned a little too avant-garde for my taste (blood sausage with gochujang being the clearest example).
Unfortunately, the service really dragged the experience down. We ordered fries with our meal & they were forgotten. When we asked about them, our server cut us off with,'Obviously it isn't coming,' without any apology. Even if the kitchen couldn't make it anymore, a quick acknowledgement & asking whether we still wanted them would have gone a long way.
To top it off, after our meal we still had wine left, & when we decided not to order dessert, we got the clear impression that it was time for us to leave. Overall: solid food, but the attitude & lack of basic hospitality make it hard to recommend.
What an amazing place. If you don't live in the area it's worth making the trip there. The menu was imaginative without being pretentious. We had a table of 5 with different Table d'hôtes choices & each one of us enjoyed every bit of it. Reasonable prices for the quality, & the portions. Time between dishes was perfect. It is BYOW with no corkage fee, which made dining there feel even more relaxed & personal. The atmosphere is great for groups, couples or even single dining at the bar. Will definitely be back.
Great service & nice atmosphere. Food is average though. Had the veal sweetbreads. Due to it being already accompanied in a sweet potato purée, the addition of honey is totally unnecessary. It made the dish sickening sweet which was not too pleasant. Then I had taken the duck. Duck was nicely cooked but risotto had coconut milk in it was a bit out of place… they didn't really go too well together. Also didn't help that both dishes had coconut milk in it is so there was just too many overlap in similar flavours for the accompaniments of both dishes. I had le dragon vert for dessert. That was perfectly balanced. Sweet panacotta balanced the slightly sour agrumes. Meringue tied it all together really well. My meal was essentially saved by a dessert.
A pure delight!!! Delicious menu, BYOB, amazing service & nice atmosphere.
You must have the table d'hôte which consists of a 5 service. We were 3 people who shared every plate so we could taste different dishes...best way to do it!!
Loved the Thon jaune & pétoncle pôelé as appetizers. The perogies were yummy too. The magret de canard, shrimp risotto & joue de boeuf were a real delight. Le dragon vert as dessert was delish! All in all, fantastic!!!
Totally recommend this place 👌🏽
What a pleasant surprise this evening spent at Cerf-Volant was !
The food was absolutely fantastic : well balance, with dishes that you may not find in other similar restaurants. From bouchées to desserts, I would recommand everything.
The location is not too big, not too small, & the service was impeccable!
We truly recommand the Flanc de porc & the Scallops, our evening's highlights ! But I would 100% return here again.
Only downfall is that it is quite far if you don't have a car ... but the bus drops you right next to the place 😁
Loved it !!!!
Le Cerf Volant exceeded expectations! From the moment we walked in, the warm & inviting atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The staff were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely passionate about the food they serve. Every dish we tried was a great. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with fresh, high-quality ingredients shining through in every bite. The attention to detail in the presentation & preparation was remarkable. Their menu offers a creative blend of classic & innovative dishes, making it impossible to choose a favorite. One of the best features? It's BYOB! This allows you to bring your favorite wine or drink to perfectly complement the amazing dishes. It's a fantastic touch that makes the experience even more personalized & enjoyable. & let's not forget the desserts-they were the perfect sweet finale to an extraordinary meal! Le Cerf Volant is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, this is the place to go. We can't recommend it highly enough!
Discovered this new jewel in town by chance. My wife & my brother-in-law & his family, we all had different dishes - all excellent. Great service as a plus.
I was very excited when I heard about this restaurant opening in my neighbourhood, since we don't have anything else like it in Tétreaultville. My husband & I had a chance to finally go last night, but were disappointingly underwhelmed. The space was nice. I didn't find it overly noisy as others have commented. The service was excellent, & the owners were also present & serving customers. The menu on the other hand, needs some work. The dishes are small which is expected with this sort of fare, but failed to wow, which made the prices harder to stomach. The Bouchee was a very dry little meatball. The focaccia was nice (although another piece would have been better), but the tomatoes tasted metallic & the two white substances were odd. The perogies were only ok; fortunately the sauces saved the dish. My husband enjoyed his tuna tartare. I really wanted to love my gnocchi dish, but the shrimp wasn't very fresh & the whole thing felt quite heavy. The sorbet would have been so much better if it did not have the sickeningly sweet white foam. & the beet cake really fell flat. Overall, it felt like the dishes were trying too hard. Some green veggies on the menu would also be nice. I'm curious to see what they do with the menu next season.
