Reviews describe Bistro l'Arepa as a lively, welcoming spot with a strong Latin vibe offering fresh Venezuelan and Colombian dishes like arepas, chicharrón, sancocho, pabellón and patacón, with many praising the quality of ingredients and flavorful execution. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as warm and charming, with good music and attentive service that makes guests feel at home. While portions are often generous and meals described as delicious, several notes mention that prices can be high for the size and some guests have found recent orders less consistent than before, particularly for signature dishes. The overall sentiment calls it a hidden gem or must visit for Latin cuisine lovers, thanks to its authentic flavors and vibrant ambiance, and there is a common sense of wanting to return to try more items.
Había dejado un comentario negativo porque no me había gustado, me contactaron y me regresaron mi dinero, me invitaron a venir nuevamente, dejé pasar un tiempo pero regresé y quiero decir que qué delicioso está, increíble. Me encantó, muchísimas gracias!
Notre première expérience: L'atmosphère & les personnes qui y travaillent sont chaleureuses & dévouées. La nourriture est excellente & invitante à découvrir, accompagnée de bonne musique. C'est très propre en plus.

Loved the arepas & sancocho!! Good made my tastebuds travel to Latin America!!! Disclaimer the sancocho changed to be now more Venezuelan like than Colombian just to set expectations.
I really didn't want to write this review because I had high hopes for this place. Growing up in Miami, I developed a deep love for Hispanic food, & when I first found Bistro l'Arepa, I was so excited. Their menu was exactly what I was craving.
I've been ordering from them for years, & everything was always great-until recently. My last five or six orders have been such a downgrade compared to before, both in quality & portion sizes. I've never dined in, so I won't comment on the atmosphere or service, but the food itself has definitely changed, & not for the better.
The chicharrón, in particular, is disappointing now. They used to serve the white sauce separately in a container, but now they drizzle it all over, which completely changes the experience. & instead of preparing the pork belly properly, it feels like they're just deep-frying it, which takes away from the texture & flavor it's supposed to have.
The biggest letdown, though, has been the Bandeja Paisa. My last two times ordering it, it just didn't taste right. It wasn't that the food had gone bad-it just wasn't good. It felt like a completely different cook was in the kitchen, & not in a good way.
I really hope they figure things out because I used to love this place, but for now, I'll be looking elsewhere for my fix. Maybe I'll give them another shot in the future, but as of now, I won't be ordering again.
The food is just perfect. We tried a lot of different things & the flavours were just marvellous, there was something intriguing about ever single item we tried. The service was also amazing, the server was so nice, the atmosphere was immaculate.
I had the pleasure of having brunch at this restaurant. The latin flavors brought me back memories of my hometown. I felt like I was at home. The service was amazing & the food was delicious, a must try if you like to explore latin American food or just try new dishes :). Todo muy rico!!

For Venezuelan people. This is one of the best restaurants on the south shore. I would say the food reminds you of eating back home. Regardless the prices are high. I went with my family of 3 ( 2 adults & 7yo child & I spent $120 & I was still hungry. I could go to a steak buffet restaurant & eat for that price.
Food: top quality ingredients, well prepared & seasoned, generous portions. Service: Don't know the name of the lady but she is Colombian & she was at the register, take out, serving, basically everything & with a smile. Also food was served promptly Atmosphere: place is big you don't feel crowded, nice ambiance & doesn't smell like the kitchen. 100% recommended We had the cachapa, parrilla, bandeja paisa & empanadas. Special bonus for the fried pork. It is like a bite of heaven
