Stopped by this bistro while in Westmount & was so pleasantly surprised with the delicious food, drinks & amazing service. We had the best burger I've ever had in Montreal!!! Tried the cocktail du jour & it was balanced & tasty, & continued with some wine from their impressive wine list. What a hidden gem.
Also.. the decor is beautiful (even the bathrooms!) & it's a perfect space to spend an evening.
Shoutout to Chef Louie & Renée for their hospitality! Can't wait to go back 🤩
Fantastic steak frites & burger. Steak was cooked perfectly. The burger was super juicy.
Love this place so much! My husband & I frequent here many Wednesdays when they do $1 oysters & $12 martinis. The food is absolutely delicious, with a changing menu full of fresh ingredients. The staff are always so welcoming & friendly (with special shout outs to Kenny & Jennifer, but truly everyone has always been so kind). Their drinks are also amazing, & they often have a specialty pickle-flavored cocktail on the menu - which changes seasonally. My husband & I both have loved every pickle-flavored concoction they've come up with. Even if there isn't a pickle one on the current menu, Jennifer generally will make something delicious up for us. :)
Its quite expensive but the foods worth the price.
I like their steak!
Waitress was so nice too.
Had a very nice dinner here.
Servers were very friendly, they know their wine!
Foods served in small portions, very delicious.
Good experience.
Friendly & knowledgable staff. Warm atmosphere. The halloumi dish was amazing! Highly recommend! The flavours, the texture - everything about this dish was spectacular. We shared a few other dishes as well, & overall everything tasted good & the service was great.
Super service , ambiance chaleureuse & quoi dire de la bouffe hummmm un délice
Lovely restaurant with a nice, cozy vibe. The food was delicious, & the staff was friendly. Highly recommend if you're in the neighbourhood or looking for a more intimate dining experience!
Warm & cozy bistro vibe. Everyone was super friendly - service was above & beyond. While waiting for our table (with our kids) the bar tender whipped us up a couple of custom cocktails. We ordered from both the evening's specials as well as the regular menu. The server helped us choose a good combination of both to get a good feel for the restaurant. Highly recommend for a very chill, very delicious, warm, welcoming restaurant - the perfect spot to warm up & tuck into a comforting French /Quebecois bistro fare. Cant wait to come back!
Very fancy fine dining place in the heart of westmount. We were there for a Christmas party with work & we had a set menu. Amazing seafood appetizers ranging from Arctic salmon with salmon eggs, some raw tuna thinly sliced & rolled as well as the home made ham. For the main we had a steak & the salmon with lentils. The steak was perfectly cooked & tender. The service was perfect, very attentive & helpful staff. Overall great experience just don't go really hungry since the portions are really small.
The tartare was delicious, as was the bread. Wasn't the biggest fan the tuna crudo & my virgin shirley temple tasted like cough syrup. Would go back to try out other things on the menu.
10 out of 10!! The service, the food, the wine & the cocktails - everything was perfect! I really had no expectations going to La Franquette & now it's one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal! Love the cozy atmosphere too.
We've eaten twice here recently with out-of-town friends, & both times were excellent. The bread was wonderful, with truly great butter. I had a great mushroom velouté, & the halloumi with balsamic & honey glaze was phenomenal. My ravioli was flavorful & delicious, & my husband said his steak was the best one he'd had in several years. & the pavlova was definitely worth leaving room for! The staff were warm & attentive, & the whole evening was great. If you'd like a meal that's a bit of a splurge, I definitely recommend it!
First of all Jenny's service was 10/10, very knowledgeable & familiar she was much appreciated. The halloumi & rigatoni were some of the best dishes I've ever had, & the wine recommended to us was perfect. All at a very reasonable price, I'll be back soon.
Bistro La Franquette is easily by far my favourite restaurant in the city. The service & food is always excellent without a doubt. The Staff is made up of genuine people who make the experience delightful & special. The food never misses. I was amazed by their Pate en croute. Highly recommend visiting this place with friends or family.
So I'll start with, you should go. I'll get to the food in a sec but as soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. They have a cozy & intimate dining room that's great for a night out with your favourite people. We had the sourdough bread & halloumi starters, which were ok, but for the mains we had the ravioli, rigatoni & the hangar steak. All of them were incredible. The one large ravioli with pockets of ricotta was served al dente, it had the right amount of chew, with a tomato basil sauce which was nice & light. The rigatoni with beef cheek also was served with perfectly al dente pasta in a deeply flavored ragu, which I think sort of tasted like a stroganoff. The pastas were served together first, & then they brought out the hangar steak. Medium rare, with fries that remind you why Montreal is so well known for them, but also with some sort of a glaze or reduction which I didn't know was there until the plate was finished & I scraped up whatever I could with a spoon. In fact, I scraped all three dishes clean using a spoon. This isn't an Italian joint but they need to help me do scarpetta... maybe having that sour dough at the end with the mains so you can mop up the deliciousness on the plates. Service throughout was so kind, unobtrusive but so attentive. Staff accentuated the warm & welcoming vibe of the dining room. I would go back just to be taken care of like that again. I can't wait to go again.
