Review Summary

Bistro King Creole is widely celebrated in Montreal as a go-to destination for authentic, flavorful Haitian cuisine, with the griot frequently cited as the best in the city for its perfect balance of crispy texture and juicy, tender meat. Guests consistently praise the generous, fresh portions and the highly skilled preparation of traditional staples like rice, plantains, and pikliz. The atmosphere is frequently described as warm and inviting, bolstered by exceptionally friendly and efficient service that makes patrons feel welcome, even across language barriers. While some diners have noted that certain menu items can be on the pricier side or that portion sizes for meat could occasionally be more substantial, the overall consensus highlights a high-quality, family-oriented dining experience that delivers consistent satisfaction and memorable, soul-satisfying flavors.

We went during a slow period & got great service from the owner. She didn't speak English & we didn't speak French & we still managed to communicate & laugh. Partner & I had goat & chicken. Both were very good. I'm not a rice fan but I loved the rice here. Ate it all. The meat portions could be a little bigger but overall I really enjoyed my meal. The decor is a little'different'. There's like nightclub style white couches on one end & a full wall length mirror on the other side but it's a family restaurant. However we were not here for the furniture. We were here for the food & we both enjoyed it greatly. Would recommended. Again would love more meat with the meal but overall 5/5. For parking park on the street

The pork & rice was gas. Pouring that soup into the rice sent me into a state of euphoric bliss. Clean plate by the end. Truly a bistro for kings. Gonna have to come back.

Best créole in Montreal. Seriously I've tried a ton of spots, & this is the best jerked chicken & griot. The rice, the sauce, the plantain. These guys work their craft. Only thing is that I wish they gave more macaroni salad per portion (or even with the extra), because it's so good, but best place nonetheless.

We had an amazing dinner here with our multi-generation family. We had the goat, beef, chicken, & spicy chicken with plantains, rice, jus, & macaroni salad. We also drank Kola Champagne & Malta Cola. The service was very friendly & informative, as we had never tried Haitian food before. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody!
