Clearly this place is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Montreal. I'm going mainly for the sashimi. Their scallops are amazing. I pre order the grilled yellowfin collar bone because I don't see it on the menu anymore. But it's the best! Give me that, the agedashi tofu, eggplant & a bowl of rice & I'm in heaven !View more

One of my biggest sadness post pandemic was the closing of the original Furusato ... I did not expect to see it again !! Price went up since Covid, but it's the same for all restaurant. Went into it not expecting much but the staff is really friendly & helpful. I think they came to pour water for us 3-4 times throughout our dinner.
We got katsudon & unadon + karaage as appetizers
Servings are fine, you won’t get extremely full, which isn’t a bad thing. Prices are fair for this economy.
Atmosphere was nice as well. Giving 5 star ⭐?

This is the rebirth of the original Furusato on Bleury, & it's every bit as good. Chef Akira-san brought his magic along, & somehow even the staff & locale capture the same authenticity & pure joy of deceptively simple dishes exquisitely prepared & unpretentiously presented.
