Mon copain m'a fait découvrir ce joyau du quartier & je ne peux en être plus reconnaissante. Simple & sans prétention, ce restaurant offre divers mets japonais qui sont tout simplement exquis & réconfortants. C'est l'endroit où l'on va pour célébrer nos anniversaires & petites victoires, ou simplement pour se faire plaisir. Bien que leurs sushi & sashimi ne soient pas disponibles au moment d'écrire ces lignes, je vous prie d'essayer les nombreuses entrées & bols. Vous allez découvrir des saveurs & des textures qu'on ne retrouve nul part ailleurs! Mes incontournables sont la soupe miso, les aubergines ageni, l'agedashi tofu, les korokke croustillantes, le poisson grillé & le karaage. Un immense coup de coeur pour leurs bouillons riches & savoureux! Le personnel est si gentil & accueillant, le service y est impeccable. Ça vaut grandement le détour!View more

The best & most authentic Japanese food in Montreal by far.
I typically order multiple appetizers when I come here, as there is a wonderful variety. I recommend:
- agedashi tofu (the standout menu item, better than any I was able to find in Japan)
- spicy eggplant
- korokke
- grilled fish (especially if the yellowtail cheek is available)
The katsudon is also very good, in large part due to the broth. The broth used here is consistently amazing.
I've been coming to Furusato for over a decade & was devastated when they closed during covid. It's a blessing they've returned & I hope they'll be open forever.
Their sushi chef is currently out due to injury, which is sad, but it does not affect my decision to recommend Furusato at all. It's still the best.
(Selfish comment: It would be great if they expanded the cooked fish options, as it's a unique part of this restaurant... I miss the salted mackerel from the previous location, & miso mackerel would be truly amazing...)View more

Very good, we ordered the Shabu Shabu, it's a Japanese fondue. Great service, the lady that served us was very nice & patient like when she put all the ingredients in the soup. Very clean bathrooms. Great experience 😊View more

We went for sushi & it was not on the menu. There is an explanation, the chef has an injury, but that was a little disappointing.
The food was excellent however.
The decor is a little cafeteria like but still charming.

La cuisine était très savoureuse, tout particulièrement les sushi & nigiri, portions très généreuses de poisson on adore. On sent la cuisine simple mais bien faite c'est très agréable !

I have been customer since around 2011 when they were still in Bleury. Then when they closed, I was so sad & didnt know at all where they moved. Someone posted on IG & finally I found you again after 14 years!! Best Japanese Restaurant in town & I'm glad that people still like it. I had so many good memories when it was still at Bleury. At that time it was owned by a japanese family/couple if my memory serves me right. I probably went there almost every day for lunch & introduced it to many friends.View more

I got the unadon & it was delicious! The sweet potato tempura was also very nice. Walking through the powdery snow on my way here, I couldn't help but contemplate how the little things are what make life truly worth living. & Furusato's home cooked-style food is one of those small yet wholesome things. A warm & nourishing meal to warm my heart in the cold winter. Service was great too & the restaurant is very spacious. Will be back!View more
