Highly recommend! The flavours, the texture - everything about this dish was spectacular. We shared a few other dishes as well, & overall everything tasted good & the service was great.View more
We've eaten twice here recently with out-of-town friends, & both times were excellent. The bread was wonderful, with truly great butter. I had a great mushroom velouté, & the halloumi with balsamic & honey glaze was phenomenal. My ravioli was flavorful & delicious, & my husband said his steak was the best one he'd had in several years. & the pavlova was definitely worth leaving room for! The staff were warm & attentive, & the whole evening was great. If you'd like a meal that's a bit of a splurge, I definitely recommend it!View more
First of all Jenny's service was 10/10, very knowledgeable & familiar she was much appreciated. The halloumi & rigatoni were some of the best dishes I've ever had, & the wine recommended to us was perfect. All at a very reasonable price, I'll be back soon.View more
So I'll start with, you should go. I'll get to the food in a sec but as soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. They have a cozy & intimate dining room that's great for a night out with your favourite people. We had the sourdough bread & halloumi starters, which were ok, but for the mains we had the ravioli, rigatoni & the hangar steak. All of them were incredible. The one large ravioli with pockets of ricotta was served al dente, it had the right amount of chew, with a tomato basil sauce which was nice & light. The rigatoni with beef cheek also was served with perfectly al dente pasta in a deeply flavored ragu, which I think sort of tasted like a stroganoff. The pastas were served together first, & then they brought out the hangar steak. Medium rare, with fries that remind you why Montreal is so well known for them, but also with some sort of a glaze or reduction which I didn't know was there until the plate was finished & I scraped up whatever I could with a spoon. In fact, I scraped all three dishes clean using a spoon. This isn't an Italian joint but they need to help me do scarpetta... maybe having that sour dough at the end with the mains so you can mop up the deliciousness on the plates. Service throughout was so kind, unobtrusive but so attentive. Staff accentuated the warm & welcoming vibe of the dining room. I would go back just to be taken care of like that again. I can't wait to go again.View more
Had a great experience at bistro La Franquette! Wine & food were fantastic. The homemade sourdough bread had a nice butter & flaky salt that balanced out the sweet caramelized Halloumi cheese, they were a perfect combo. & thank you to Coco for recommending the Gemelli pasta!!! Will be back:)View more
A must try restaurant in Montreal. Everything was perfect. The food, the service. There oysters were very fresh & delicious. The halloumi, never had such a good halloumi Mains we had the ravioli & beef tartare with fries, highly recommended.View more
Visiting Montreal after many years & quite disappointed at this highly rated restaurant- booked last min & got a spot in the night, when we got in another 5 mins waiting by the door which was fine, then we sat down & I ordered the ravioli it was mediocre & I tried ordering beef tartare finding it was sold out! First time dining at a place that sells out which looks like they are not prepared for meeting the capacity of customers, I then ordered halloumi but it was too sweet & I couldn't keep eating after finishing half. The sorbet was quite good I guess it made up for the bad mains. I left the resto with a hungry stomach & don't think it's worth $90 for what I got. Also I had to yell the entire time because I couldn't hear my friend due to the extremely loud atmosphere. Service was slow I had to ask three waitresses the same question on whether my dish will be delivered.....won't go backView more
Came here based on a recommendation by a friend. Did not disappoint! Warm, trendy & inviting atmosphere with impeccable service. The dishes were absolutely next level, packed with perfectly balanced flavours. Try the halloumi entrée & the sea bass! Will absolutely be going back.View more
We don't normally venture this far from our own part of the city (Rosemont/Plateau) to go out for a meal because we are spoiled with options around there - but we are SO glad we came to La Franquette for MTL a Table. The service was top notch, the space is chic & calm, & the food was truly unforgettable & generously portioned. The highlights were the cocktails, the homemade halloumi, the risotto (which I usually hate!!!), &.. ok the whole meal. Thank you! We will definitely be back.View more
