Reviews describe Bistro Amerigo as a cozy, neighborhood Italian bistro in Montreal with a simple, honest menu of well executed classics made with fresh ingredients. Diners repeatedly praise the gnocchi, meatballs, arancini, and a wide range of pastas and seafood, noting generous portions, comforting flavors, and a homey atmosphere that suits lunch or dinner. The wine list and service are often highlighted as warm and attentive, though several comments mention long waits for tables due to no reservations, crowded spaces, and occasional inconsistencies in service. Standout dishes such as vongole, octopus, and tiramisu or cannoli are frequently cited, while a few visits are described as pricey for the area. Overall, the restaurant is seen as a genuine Montreal gem that delivers authentic Italian food with personality and invites guests to return to try more of the menu.

Not too impressed with the place. I had Gnocchi with the soup & both were good. My girlfriend had Cavatelli with the salad. Salad was pretty basic & missing dressing so a bit dry. The cavatelli was pretty underwhelming too. I'd definitely recommend going for the soup & there might be better pasta dishes to try on the menu than these two. Service was great & quick.
Entrées, plats & desserts tout est délicieux ! Cuisson al dente. Des plats copieux & vraiment goûteux. Par contre grosse attente, 1h30 pour obtenir une table (pas de réservation possible)
Truly, an amazing dining experience the food was incredible from the pastas to the meats to the fried seafood platter. Chef Alex & his team are true artists in what they do. Great staff, great vibes Really a must try when in the area you will not be disappointed! P.S the truffle gnocchi, chefs kiss !
Finally tried out this restaurant & it did not disappoint. Had an amazing experience! Everything was delicious!! Especially the Gnocchi Funghi e Tartufata I've had gnocchi pasta in the past & they all tasted mushy/doughy. But the gnocchi I had tonight was soft & not tooo firm!! What I would suggest is to try & come earlier since wait time was about 45minutes & I was pretty hungry. Aside that, the service, atmosphere & fooood was 10/10!! Stomach was very happy ☺️
We are group of 4, ordered Nero Seppia, Bolognese, Tartufata & Ravioli di Gamberi. Food is so delicious, service is great. Nice neighborhood with parking spaces right outside the restaurant.

I recently visited Bistro Amerigo with my boyfriend, & while I was excited to try it based on all the good things I'd heard, the experience left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant is super small & doesn't take reservations, so we ended up waiting about 30-45 minutes to be seated. As soon as we sat down, someone came to take our order before we even had a chance to look at the menu. We ordered a glass of wine each, along with the meatballs, octopus, & cavatelli barese pasta (with Italian sausage & broccoli), which came with either a soup or salad as a side. Both entrees & the wine arrived within about two minutes of ordering, which felt a bit rushed. The meatballs were amazing, & the octopus was good, though slightly chewy. The pasta was also delicious & tasted authentic-I even ended up taking the leftovers home. While the food was generally impressive & felt true to its Italian roots, the pace of the service made the meal feel rushed, & it was clear they wanted to turn over tables quickly-we were in & out within 40 minutes. The place itself has a really cool vibe, but the rushed atmosphere kind of took away from the experience for me.

We had an amazing dining experience, thanks to Nita, who was incredibly helpful & super friendly! For starters, we enjoyed the Polpette di Amerigo & the Mozzarella di Bufala. For our main dishes, we had the Gnocchi Funghi e Tartufata & the Ravioli di Gamberi e Vongole. To finish off, we indulged in two delicious tiramisus for dessert. Everything was homemade & absolutely delicious! I would give six stars if I could !!
Small quaint place & full of people. Obviously a well known place in the area as a lot of people seemed to be regulars. Food & service was good. Salads included in your order ! I'd go back.
