Reviews describe Bistro Amerigo as a cozy, neighborhood Italian bistro in Montreal with a simple, honest menu of well executed classics made with fresh ingredients. Diners repeatedly praise the gnocchi, meatballs, arancini, and a wide range of pastas and seafood, noting generous portions, comforting flavors, and a homey atmosphere that suits lunch or dinner. The wine list and service are often highlighted as warm and attentive, though several comments mention long waits for tables due to no reservations, crowded spaces, and occasional inconsistencies in service. Standout dishes such as vongole, octopus, and tiramisu or cannoli are frequently cited, while a few visits are described as pricey for the area. Overall, the restaurant is seen as a genuine Montreal gem that delivers authentic Italian food with personality and invites guests to return to try more of the menu.
it's now a NDG staple.classic Italian bistro. with great food & good selection of private reserve wines from Italy.
the team is great been dozens of times never a bad experience!
The food is good but I was very disappointed with my recent visit. The waitress who served me was unprofessional & had an unpleasant attitude toward me for no apparent reason. From the moment I arrived, her tone & demeanor were unnecessarily rude, making the experience uncomfortable. Good customer service is the heart of any restaurant, but this interaction felt dismissive & unwelcoming. I hope management addresses this so future guests are treated with the respect they deserve.Brown hair, probably morrocan & french.
Bistro Amerigo is okay. The veal meatballs were the highlight of the meal. Although they were not exceptional, the tomato sauce was rich in flavor & the veal was pretty good. The squid ink pasta could have been better; the sauce had too much oil, & lacked depth in flavor. The complementary salad was nice & refreshing. I do feel, however, that the service could have been much better. Our waiter was a little rude & condescending. We did not feel heard, not welcome. All in all, I recommend this restaurant for the people that are looking for simple italian dishes & a somewhat nice atmosphere.

I went to this restaurant with my 4 friends today Tuesday August 5th. We sat on the terrace. We all ordered a different dish & everyone loved their food so much. The pasta sauces were very tasty. My friend's lamb was amazing. A lovely spring salad accompanied our meals. They were generous with the portions. Even though it was a Tuesday evening supper hour, there was a bit of a line up. They do not take reservations. There is parking on the street. In my opinion this is one of the best Italian restaurants on Monkland Avenue in the heart of NDG. We will most definitely come back again.
this Italian bistro is a must try. The food was incredibly fresh & full of flavor. Everything we tried was delicious, but the standout for me was the octopus salad - perfectly cooked, tender, & so well-seasoned. We kept coming back each time we always find a new favorite dish. Before this octopus salad was the special fish soup
We adore this place. The food is excellent , the service as well. Food is so tasty & fresh. It's my personal favorite, my daughter can't get enough of the Linguine Vongole & other family members all have their own go to dish that they crave. Big thumbs up
very small restaurant with no reservations. cute bistro feel, Italian, & authentic.
nice but not overbearing service - although we did feel some pressure to have to leave as we were a large group of 7 (was was 1/3 of their table space).
the food was all fantastic. incredible. that's where the five stars comes from & it is well deserved.
Has a cute dinner vibe. Had their special of the day which was a torched tuna with a salad, & it was very mediocre. Calamari was good. Was a nice spot but not sure I would go back. Pasta was good but felt like something I very easily could have made at home. Although we sat at the bar it feels like staff walked by us frequently without paying attention when had a question.
Most perfect Neighborhood Italian bistro serving the most authentic Italian one can find in Montreal. Super charming staff & fair prices like one can hardly find in Montreal these days. A must for any foodie
