Reviews describe Bistro Amerigo as a cozy, neighborhood Italian bistro in Montreal with a simple, honest menu of well executed classics made with fresh ingredients. Diners repeatedly praise the gnocchi, meatballs, arancini, and a wide range of pastas and seafood, noting generous portions, comforting flavors, and a homey atmosphere that suits lunch or dinner. The wine list and service are often highlighted as warm and attentive, though several comments mention long waits for tables due to no reservations, crowded spaces, and occasional inconsistencies in service. Standout dishes such as vongole, octopus, and tiramisu or cannoli are frequently cited, while a few visits are described as pricey for the area. Overall, the restaurant is seen as a genuine Montreal gem that delivers authentic Italian food with personality and invites guests to return to try more of the menu.
Amazing food, friendly & welcoming staff. Gets busy. Try & make a reservation if you're going on busy days. They have a delicious authentic spicy sauce that pairs well with the food. Don't use chiili flakes, ask for the spicy sauce. Lol

We had to wait an hour for a table, which was fine as we knew they didn't take reservations. We were a group of 4. The chicken parm was 10/10, the gnocchi had such an overwhelming truffle taste that it was not enjoyable. One of the other pasta dishes we ordered was over cooked. Also the bread they serve was really disappointing. The calamari was to die for.

What a great place for a tasty meal. First time I went tonight & wow! The food was delicious! Italian style decor that makes you actually feel like you're in a small resto in rome, & the atmosphere is just very peaceful even when its a full house. I tried the ravioli & it was spectacular. My friend had the special meat platter & it was really filling (don't remember the name of it). Portions are very generous compared to most places with similar menus. They have an outdoor terrace & seating at the bar as well. Will definitely go back to try everything else on the menu. Almost forgot to mention that they had homemade tiramisu that melts in your mouth. Mix that with an espresso & you have a match made in heaven. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to please your taste buds. Like & follow for more honest reviews 👍
This is an amazing family owned local Italian restaurant. Everything on the menu is beautifully, prepared & delicious. The entire staff is friendly & welcoming & they always make you feel welcome & at home.
Upon a friend's recommendation, we decided to dine at this establishment. Our order included a delightful assortment of dishes, including gnocchi, ravioli, the bolognese, & the duck ragu. Each dish exceeded our expectations, & we complemented our meal with margaritas that had just the right balance of flavors & alcohol content. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. Our server not only guided us through the menu but also shared fascinating insights about the origins of the ingredients & the restaurant's rich history. It's worth noting that reservations are not accepted here, so be prepared to provide your name & patiently wait until your table becomes available. In summary, our experience at this restaurant was truly remarkable, & we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it.
My favorite restaurant in Montreal. Chef Alex Di Prima is the absolute best there is. Atmosphere is awesome, service is great & the food is to die for. The best Italian food you will ever have.
I found my new favorite restaurant for pasta. Solid 4 stars, here are the minor things that need improvement. - i was very disapointed with the bread. They serve the same bread from premiere moisson that you can buy at Costco, & they don't even bother to heat it up. Coming to a restaurant where they make fresh pasta, I would expect better bread. - the little salad with the mozzarella was bland & lacked salt. I dont know if its meant to be served that way or the cook just forgot to put salt on it but it had no taste. - the guy behind the bar who served us never offered us some parmesan with our main dishes, never asked us if our food was good. If he would've done this it would've been a 5 star for the service because other than these 2 points, he was very polite & service was fast. Little suggestion, a chili oil for people who like their food spicy would be a great condiment to have for people who would like to have some. I would've added some chili oil on the spaghetti that comes with the chicken parm! I hope the owner of the restaurant reads my review & can agree with me. I rarely write reviews, but I felt I wanted to share these points because I really can see this restaurant becoming my favorite italian restaurant in the city. I really wish them a lot of success. The gnoccis were to die for. The chicken parm was perfect. What can I say about the tiramisu? 10/10 just wow! I will definitely be back as I want to taste almost all the dishes on the menu! Just please give me some good & warm homemade bread with my pasta!
