The place is nice looking, was pretty busy for a Thursday too. I love the decor & bird theme. I expected the chicken wings to be amazing, but they seemed kind of dry to me. The service was a bit slow, took a while to get the fried chicken, & as my mouth burned from the dragon's breath wings (which are insanely spicy so be warned), I felt like I had to ask for water over & over. Would be nice to have a jug on the table instead of depending on the waiter. The washrooms are also very tiny. Pretty fun, but not a place I would suggest or prefer.
The chicken always hits the spot. Gloriously fried & juicy it satisfies the craving on first bite. Great diverse selection of sauces & rubs helps keep it new each time & satisfies the whole family. Sides are pretty standard but tasty. Staff has always been super friendly & on the ball + it's always fun to get a little image printed on your beer foam with edible dye!
Last night, I ventured into the culinary wonderland that is the Birdhouse Restaurant in D.D.O. for a double date, a brave expedition in the name of romance & food. Spoiler alert: the service was top-notch, the food was good, but my wallet is still weeping. As we walked in, the atmosphere was as cozy as a bird's nest-if that nest was filled with Pinterest-worthy decor & a subtle hint of honey garlic. Our server fluttered over with the enthusiasm of a friendly sparrow, & let me tell you, this person could charm the feathers off a chicken. Seriously, I was ready to leave a glowing review after just the service alone. If only they could've taken my leftovers with them! Now, onto the food: the dishes were delicious, each bite singing a melody of flavors that could make even a picky eater swoon. However, it felt like the prices were auditioning for a role in "The Great British Bake Off: Pricey Edition." I mean, I'm all for gourmet experiences, but I was half-expecting a side of my own personal chef to come with my entrée at those prices! But here's where the comedy of errors took a turn: in the haze of delightful conversation & copious laughter, I walked out without my beloved leftovers. Yes, the precious remains of my overpriced dinner were left behind, sitting on the table like a forgotten trophy of my culinary conquests. I can't tell you how furious I was! After spending an amount that could've funded a small vacation, the thought of my uneaten food being tossed out felt like a betrayal worthy of a soap opera. "Noooo! My buffalo wings! How could you abandon me?" To sum it all up: if you're looking for a charming evening with great service & delectable food (that comes at a price), Birdhouse is the place to be. Just make sure to keep a close eye on your leftovers-otherwise, they may become a casualty of your delightful evening. Would I return? Absolutely! But next time, I'll be packing a doggy bag... or maybe just a full-on lunchbox. 🍽️
We love this restaurant. It's local. It's got a great vibe. The food is really good. The staff is super nice & I've never had anything that I did not like. We came with friends from out of town, Sunday night & we were all really happy. I love the fish tacos & the Poke Bowl. One person had the fried chicken & loved it, my husband had the boneless wings said they were delicious & the other person had fish & chips. Chips same thing delish. & very important of course, great fries!!
We're visiting tourists & came to this restaurant on a whim because the chain restaurant that we wanted to go to was closed. This restaurant ended up being so much better anyways & we're glad we came. It's got an atmosphere of a restaurant & a bar combined. It was the perfect place to eat some food & have some drinks on a late night. Service was amazing - Charlotte is one of the best servers we've ever had. She was attentive & funny. Food was delicious too! We recommend their legendary wing sauce & the Nutella cheesecake.
We are from Toronto. The restaurant was recommended by a local we met on a golf course. Excellent value, food & atmosphere. We will definitely go back next time we are in town.
Great staff, nice decor good atmosphere. Food was great I loved the nashville chicken, pickle pretzel was different , overall the restaurant is unique & stand out. well worth it. Can't wait to go back ! :)
Very noisy interior. Almost left to go elsewhere, but they do have an enclosed outdoor area that is not quite as noisy. EDIT: Indeed, Grease WAS the word (was the word) that I heard, it had groove, it had meaning... Since the restaurant is called Birdhouse, & the movie was about the Thunderbirds, I thought it might be a regular event, perhaps even nightly (at least on weeknights). Had I come on another night, I would perhaps have given another star or two for the atmosphere. Given the special event & the fact that we had no reservation, I was impressed that they got us a table with no wait.
Awesome food, & surprisingly lots of vegan options. Their sauces & dips are great & this is probably the best places in Montreal to get wings right now. Nice dining room, cool retro vibe & good beer choice. They can also accommodate groups & parties.

Amazing night at its Grease screening ! No surprise it was busy for a Tuesday night but as always great service & food ! Chris & staff always hospitable even if was super busy !
One of my favorite restaurants in Montreal! There are a lot of places you can get good wings, but not thus good. & the options are amazing. Music videos & ambiance are incredible & keep us coming back. Price is a bit high but if you are looking for a trendy, popular restaurant with amazing food & drinks it's very much worth it ! 5 stars in my view.
Like usual, it was such a pleasant experience. It was my anniversary & the waiters, waitress & management made it a great evening. The food was great & really enjoyed the atmosphere.
