Loved our visit to Biiru while in Montreal! Having just visited Japan this past summer we felt like trying out a local Canadian take on the great food we had on our trip & were not disappointed! We had a show at place des Arts & we were looking for somewhere to go eat before. A few weeks we had went to Hanzo & they had told us that they are working together, so we decided to give it a try. They have the same menu only a few different stuff. We got the Hasu chicken & we loved the sauce was very good, it was sweet yet spicy. The candied salmon were good, they were fried, crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. I wasn't a big fan of the sliced beef(I didn't like a cubed beef) nor the pork ribs, I would not get them again(it was too heavy). The restaurant was busy, & our waitress Juliana was really nice, we both had ordered some bloody Ceasar are the beginning & felt like it was watered down or a missing ingredient, she was really nice to make us new ones herself & checked on us so many times to make sure everything was good for us. I find that she was really friendly & nice, she was exceptional.Voir plus

La nourriture est bonne sans plus, car dans un plat de pieuvre, on ne trouve qu' une pâte avec des minuscules morceaux de qqch qu'on n'est pas capable de savoir si c'est vraiment de la pieuvre.. Mais le plus inquiétant c'est qu'on ne peut que payer avec cartes , ce que en plus d'être illégal, brime la liberté de chacun... Je n'irai certainement plus à cet endroit, dommage pour le service qui est cependant très bien, nôtre barmen & serveur était vraiment excellent.

J'ai enfin pu essayer ce restaurant! Excellent service très accommodant. Ils ont l'air d'être en train de refaire une murale mais ça n'enlève pas à l'ambiance. La nourriture était très bonne, je ne m'y attendais pas à cela. Ça se compare beaucoup à ce qu'avait essayé au japon. Bien dans l'ensemble. On dirait que j'avais de plus grandes attentes vu les bons commentaires sur Google. Repas en formule tapas, c'était bon, avec des prix "raisonnables" pour 2023. Beau décor. Par contre, nous étions vraiment entassés les uns sur les autres. J'avais l'impression de partager ma table avec deux inconnus. Un des tous premiers restos japonais "nouvelle vague" ouvert en 2014, des mêmes proprios que le trio Escondite, Koa Lua & Habanera situés sur la rue Union. Le resto ne réinvente pas la roue mais focus plutôt sur les classiques de la cuisine japonaise. Staff bien rodé sur l'heure du midi, service précis, attentionné & rapide, les plats sont tous sortis en même temps. On est allé avec les classiques takoyaki, poulet frit, saumon & yakitoris de boeuf & fromage. Je recommande particulièrement le saumon bonbon mais le yakitori & takoyaki étaient très bien exécutés également. Plus belle décoration d'un resto japonais à Montréal mais soyez avertis que le local, assis sur du béton, est très bruyant donc atmosphère urbaine & bruyante. Une erreur de facturation a été la seule entorse à un agréable repas du midi. Fortement recommandé.Voir plus
I wish I could give this place a better rating but unfortunately cannot. We were seated at the bar before our reservation which was nice. There space at the bar between you & the next person is very limited. The food came out quickly which was also nice. The beef tataki wasn't prepared properly & made myself & my girlfriend sick afterwards where we needed to take Imodium. There was a couple tables of about 16-20 altogether who were obnoxious & very loud without any regard for the rest of the people in the restaurant yet were still served alcohol repeatedly. They should have been cut off long ago & every time they would take a sake bomb, they would do a chant & I could tell the people in the restaurant felt awkward. The washroom was disgusting with vomit & urine on the floor. I'm sure if they got all these things under control, the sky is the limit with this place.Voir plus

If you're seeing this review, stop scrolling, stop looking, stop debating, just go here. This is by far the most amazing place I've been to in Montreal. Aside from the incredible atmosphere with Japanese decor & cool lighting, great music, friendly staff, & good service, the food is delicious. We couldn't decide what to get, so we were offered a tasting menu, which included what felt like an infinite amount of food, each one better than the previous. Every dish was so different & tasty, never mind being such a generous size & so filling. This was the first time in 4 years my boyfriend & I have never not been able to finish the portion served.
