Bevo Bar + Pizzeria is exactly what you'd expect from a well-located Old Montreal spot: a tourist trap with a pretty patio, decent branding, & underwhelming execution. Let's start with the food-mediocre at best. The pizza was fine, but nothing memorable, & the pasta lacked depth or authenticity. If you're coming here expecting a real taste of Italian cuisine, prepare to be disappointed. This is a step up from Boston Pizza, sure, but authentic Italian? Not even close.
The atmosphere is loud, bordering on chaotic. It's not the lively'bustling trattoria' kind of vibe-it's just noisy, which makes conversation a challenge. Service was adequate, but certainly not exceptional. Our server was polite but rushed, & it felt like they were just trying to turn the table as fast as possible.
This place thrives on foot traffic & Instagrammable aesthetics, not on culinary merit. That said, if you're a tourist looking for a drink & a bite in a busy part of town, & you know exactly what you're walking into, you'll be fine. Just temper your expectations-this isn't a hidden gem or an authentic Italian eatery. It's a place to grab an overpriced pizza & say you went. Nothing more.
Food, service, atmosphere & great vibes! All in one place & right near the port & old Montreal. If you're looking to dine in at an Italian place with great staff & food this is the place. The ricotta pasta was the most amazing pasta I've had ask the server for this when ordering I don't recall the name. The mushroom mozzarella pizza was nice but nothing crazy. The sun-dried goat cheese tomato based pizza was great vegetarian option as well.
Overall great experience if you are in old montreal for some Italian food

The ricotta & spinach pasta is AMAZING, I never usually like Italian restaurants (bland & underwhelming) but this pasta blew me away. Pizza is also delicious as well.
The day I went (valentine's day) the waitress was handling one whole area. It was hard to get a hold off of her but she was really friendly & gave us everything we asked for. Disco-Funky music from the 80's on the background & delicious food! I had arancini & a salad my wife had a pasta all very good! & ended with a very good cheesecake. Recommend the restaurant & would go again.. pricey though
The space is great & the service was good. The calamari appetizer was quite good with a nice tomato pesto for dipping. It was entirely downhill from there. When they say prosciutto in the menu, they mean sliced ham deli meat. When they say crispy, it's not. The pasta & gnocchi dishes our table ordered favoured quantity over quality. The impression was store bought dry pasta & a very basic, minimally flavoured sauce. All in all very mediocre & no where near the Google score that inspired us to try this place. Can't recommend

Ordered the most premium pasta they have. Its taste below average. I wouldn't want to go back here. The service is decent & fast, the ambiance is cool. But the portion & quality doesn't align with the prices for me or my friends.
Our first time in Montreal & a friend brought us here (thanks Kevin!). Great atmosphere, cool building, great service in French & English, & the pasta & pizza was excellent. Got the Margarita pizza & the spinach & cheese pesto pasta, both were top notch. Great location too!
Pasta are microwave quality, half of it is cold while other half is barely heated up. It does give me impression that it is frozen pasta being heat up to serve. Pizza are like frozen pizza with little extra topping on top. Atmosphere is good because it is in old montreal & hence I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, I will not come back for food.
QUICK REVIEW: Delicious food, fabulous service, perfect for a date. PHOTOS: What we ordered, the wood-fired oven, the menu, the men's washroom, the bar DETAILED REVIEW: A hidden gem in old Montreal! Perfect place for a date! This was our first experience & we absolutely loved it! The staff was friendly & ready to serve us. We ordered (see photos) -> Pizza Salame: A perfectly baked thin crust pizza with spicy salami & delicious melting mozzarella. But some might find it a little too salty. -> Insalata Verde: A simple but tasty salad. -> Medaglioni con Ricotta e Spinaci: THE BEST STUFFED PASTA I'VE EVER TASTED, creamy & perfectly cooked. These three meals cost around $80, but were well worth it. The place is also very clean & the welcome is very cordial. I hope this review helped, I'll be going back 100%.
Had a great experience dining out with my family. Our waiter Yanni was went out of his way to make sure we were all taken care of. Best service ever & great pasta! Don't skip out on the calamari, it was a real hit with the kids :)
Food was just ok (at best). Water glasses were dirty on arrival. Appetizer was actually pretty good (beet salad). The main though (gnocchi bolognese) tasted like grocery store gnocchi (& not the better ones honestly) with what seemed like jarred meat sauce. It was very disappointing. Service was fine (friendly staff). Didn't offer Parmesan after the pasta was dropped off & we had to flag someone down. We could have made much better at home with a fraction of the cost & a few keypresses on the microwave. Nice location though!
