Nestled in the heart of Laval lies a culinary gem that never fails to impress-Beroya Restaurant. From the moment you step foot into this cozy eatery, you're transported on a sensory journey through the vibrant flavors of Lebanese & Syrian cuisine.
Recently, I had the pleasure of treating my twin daughters to dinner at Beroya, & from the onset, I knew it was going to be an exceptional experience. Having frequented this establishment before, I was already familiar with the high standard of their fare, but this visit surpassed all expectations.
Our meal commenced with an array of appetizers that set the tone for the culinary delight that followed. The tabouleh, a quintessential Levantine salad, transported me back to my childhood with its fresh, herbaceous flavors that mirrored those of my mother's recipe. Accompanying it was the hummus-a true test of authenticity-& I was delighted to find it surpassed my expectations, evoking memories of dinners enjoyed in Lebanon itself.
But the delights didn't stop there. We indulged in an assortment of mezze, including perfectly crispy fries, decadent cheese rolls, & an array of other tantalizing dishes that tantalized our taste buds & left us eager for more.
For our main course, we opted for the succulent kafta kabob & arayes, & we were not disappointed. The kabobs, bursting with juices & flavor, were grilled to perfection, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs at Beroya. Each bite was a symphony of taste, further enhancing our dining experience.
Yet, what truly sets Beroya apart is not only the outstanding quality of its cuisine but also the impeccable service & ambiance. From the warm welcome we received upon arrival to the attentive care of the staff throughout our meal, every detail was meticulously attended to, ensuring a memorable dining experience from start to finish.
As we savored our final bites & reluctantly bid farewell to Beroya, we couldn't help but reflect on an exceptional evening we had just experienced. If you find yourself in Laval & craving authentic Lebanese cuisine, do not hesitate to visit Beroya. With its tantalizing blend of Lebanese & Syrian flavors, it's a culinary journey that's not to be missed. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Great ambience, top quality food & service highly recommend
The pricing structure appears to be unfavorable, with a high cost associated with a limited quantity. The primary concern is not the affordability, but rather the value proposition, considering the interplay of quality, quantity, & price.
Best Syrian restaurant in the Montreal region. Quality of food & the service is the same without deterioration for so many years . Definitely recommended
The staff are very welcoming, & the servers are professional. We went with the Beroya tasting menu, which was recommended by our server. Overall, the food quality was excellent, & the ambiance was great.
Price-wise, the tasting menu is $65 per person, with a minimum of two people. With taxes, you're looking at around $149 before tip. Is it worth it? Probably yes. The quality of what you're eating justify the price. However, it's worth noting that you could get a similar meal setup elsewhere for less, so that's something to keep in mind.
The food is overpriced for the quality. The kibbeh nayeh isn't the greatest. The'rass nana (mint steak) isn't good at all. The humus with meat is good. The fillet mignon is poorly served. The Fattoush is good not the Tabouli. It's sad to say they were much better when they first opened their quality of food has been declining throughout time. Service is excellent though!
90% of people will like their food. For me, the food is ok but enjoyable. The reason for three stars is, it was overpriced.
Cheap Ingredients & not well trained Cooks:
The olive oil was bitter. Chicken & shrimp were overcooked. The portion of kebab or kafta was properly cooked but the others were overcooked. By the texture, it seems they buy minced meat instead of buying good quality cuts & mincing it themselves with the proper amount of fat. I could also tell by the lack of beefy flavor, it tastes very similar to local grocery store meat quality. Which is not ideal for an overpriced restaurant. The fish was perfectly cooked but then again, it was a cheap frozen fish fillet. Like the same one you can buy from Costco.
The only thing that was great is the warm fresh bread. But then again they use the cheap pita bread in the dishes.
I spent close to $400 for me & my wife with two kids. Can't complain about the portion even though it was less. Things are just more expensive here. It won't be the same type of portions when it comes to high-end restaurants in some European & middle East countries.
Came in on a Sunday with my family for lunch, without reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty. The overweight waiter was rude during our whole stay. We felt unwelcomed & have been ignored most of the time. We were seated without menus & with half empty water glasses (bottle didn't have enough liquid). He crossed my gaze after 20 minutes, & he took menus nearby to give them to us, but fortunately, I checked the menu online before so I ordered right away. He didn't help or recommend anything.
Still no water bottle on the table, no one to fill our glasses the entire time. The food was good, but definitely overpriced for the quality & quantity. We had to wait undefinitely for someone to notice we finished & needed to leave (no server near our table). We had to dress & wait near the exit for the waiter to come with the bill . The guy should not work as a waiter or maybe he had a bad day, but I was just in a hurry to pay & never come back.
Beroya always delivers. The servers are so friendly & give good recommendations. I would say they are also in the top 5 fastest to serve our meals from the moment we ordered it. Super fast & efficient! As for the food, it is so good & authentic. It is my go to when I'm craving Syrian/lebanese/armenian food. The price is also quite reasonable for the quality & taste of the food as well as the fast service. Would definitely keep going back!
We had our Christmas party for work & everything was beyond perfect. I have been coming to Beroya since the opening & still the quality of the food & service has not changed . Perfect !!!!! Thank you Beroya for this amazing dining experience .
It was our first time & it exceeded our expectations. We went on a saturday night, we didn't have a reservation & the wait was not long. We took the tasting menu & it was amazing. The quantity & quality was well beyond what we expected. Our waiter, Ghaith, was very friendly & knowledgeable, the atmostphere of the restaurant was also very lovely & welcoming. All in all, an amazing experience & a great place to try syrian food.
Beroya has maintained the quality of its food & is one of the first Syrian restaurants in Montreal.
Beroya is renowned for its exceptional Middle Eastern cuisine, offering a truly classical dining experience. The presentation of each dish is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to artistry. Every plate is meticulously arranged, with an eye for detail that transforms each meal into both a visual & gastronomic delight. The quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite, with freshness & vibrant flavors that showcase the culinary prowess behind the scenes. The ambiance at Beroya is equally impressive, providing a warm & inviting atmosphere that reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Middle East. The decor is adorned with beautiful artwork & intricate patterns, complemented by soft, ambient lighting that enhances the cozy setting. The gentle strains of Middle Eastern music in the background contribute to a soothing, immersive dining experience, making it a perfect place for both intimate dinners & celebratory gatherings. Whether you're a connoisseur of Middle Eastern cuisine or new to the flavors, Beroya promises a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for those seeking both exquisite food & a welcoming, culturally rich atmosphere.
Great place with delicious food & desserts! Quality & quantity are high & staff are efficient & pleasant ! Manager is hands on & on top of things ! A must try restaurant!
ABSOLUTELY a 5-Star restaurant! The quality of the food & staff (Shorbel served us & he was amazing!) is top notch. The top 5 restaurants in Montreal as far as I'm concerned (& I'm difficult to please.)
Best Syrian restaurant in town. All courses we have ordered are an explosion of flavors. Superior quality . Server Sharbel was awesome as well! Explained everything very patient & with a smile.
The place is very authentic ,in terms of decoration , music & people working there . Even the food is authentic without too much modifications & adaptations . Now the food is above average but not all platters are on the same level . I highly recommend the cheese rolls (rkakat) & Muhammara; & the fries portion & quality are excellent for the price . Some items are over priced & avergae in taste like the falafel & chicken liver . In conclusion very good syrian/ lebanese restaurant but the bill is on the expensive side so u wont feel very happy leaving the place.
This is a great place if you are looking for Syrian food. All the classics are in the menu, the flavors are amazing & the prices are very good vs quality & quantity This one is highly recommended. Staff is friendly & helpful, & good place to visit with family & small children as well.
Went for dinner as a couple. Food - Ordered the following: Mouhamara - delicious Kibbeh moudawara with pistachio - ok Brick cheese - ok Freke & mozat - dont recommend Filet mignon - good Price - the bill turned out to be 117$ without tips. I think it is pricey compared to the place & quality. Ambience - nice busy resto on a friday. Nice decor. Doesn't look like a fancy or high-end resto. I saw the oud player arrive but by the time we left around 8:30pm he still didnt start playing. They say they close at 11 pm so not sure when he starts the live music. Overall, as someone who grew up eating lebanese & Mediterranean food, i dont think it is great, Good maybe. & again i think the price is too overpriced in my view.
