Oh, Beijing Chinese Restaurant in Montreal! Where do I even begin with this culinary marvel? From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for something truly... memorable.
The General Tao chicken was, without a doubt, a masterclass in... well, chicken. Each piece was a testament to the chef's bold vision, perfectly capturing that elusive balance of'chicken' &'sauce.' & the vegetable fried rice? A symphony of grains & what I can only assume were vegetables, each grain standing proudly on its own, refusing to be overshadowed by any mere flavor.
Then came the breaded shrimp - a revelation! The breading was so robust, so confident, it almost made you forget there was a shrimp somewhere inside. A true triumph of texture. & the egg rolls? Crispy, yes, undeniably crispy. They certainly held their shape, which is more than one can say for some lesser egg rolls.
But the pièce de résistance, the crowning glory, was the Chinese broccoli. It was green. It was leafy. It was... broccoli. A minimalist's dream, showcasing the raw, unadulterated essence of the vegetable.
In summary, if you're looking for an experience that challenges your perceptions of'delicious' & leaves you with a lingering sense of... something, then Beijing Chinese Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Five stars for daring to be so uniquely... itself!View more

From Florida where you can't find real Chinese food, at least in the Tampa area. Nothing but take out.
We found the Beijing restaurant because it was close to our hotel & thought we'd try it. We were pleased. Very good egg rolls & tasty wonton soup. We ordered a dinner for two which was easily enough for three, reasonably priced & all the dishes were pretty tasty. Yes, they could improve the decor a bit. LoL

Beijing has been an establishment of sheer quality consistency, a sure bet Chinese restaurant since I was of age of spending money on Chinese food & is still the case today when I consider eating Chinese food in Chinatown.
Service is always welcoming, food quality there is above Chinatown average which saddens me when I've heard their opening hours were shorter (they close earlier now).
Aside from that, we've often used them for take out & uber eats to great delight.

Don't let the 4 stars fool you, this place deserves 5 stars. Truly so authentic, one of the best comfort Chinese food places in Montreal. The cooks in the back have been perfecting the food for decades, the service is warm & super quick, & the huge menu variety doesn't deplete the high quality of every dish. The food was awful. We were in Chinatown looking for a bite around 10:30 pm, & unfortunately for us, this was the only spot open. It was pretty packed, so we assumed the food would be good. It wasn't. Most of the food we tried made me question whether the food was safe to eat. There was a common theme: the food tasted stale & old, & everything we ordered came out in record time, which meant nothing was fresh. It gave us no time to enjoy our food - McDonald's takes more time to prepare a meal. We ordered the pork, wontons, dumplings in peanut sauce, & duck. The duck was the biggest disappointment, both in terms of taste & cost-to-portion ratio. It was literally four small pieces of old, chewy duck that instantly put my stomach in shambles, & we paid over $20 CAD. All in all, our meal was $65 CAD, & we left so unhappy & feeling gross about what we had. We love Chinese food in hole-in-the-wall eateries & eat pretty much everything, but this restaurant just missed the mark.View more

I loved that Chinese restaurant, very welcoming staff. Free tea with you meal, very good way to clean your palate between each bite. The dumpling in spicy peanut sauce wasn't spicy at all but damn it was good !! The general Tao was the best I've eaten in a while. Very sweet sauce, crunchy chicken filet & generous portion for the price. I highly recommend the General Tao! I also tried the pork salt & spices & it was really good portion for the price & oh damn it was yummy 🤤 The chow mein Beijing had noodles too crunchy for my taste but it was okay taste wise.View more

This is the best Chinese food restaurant in Montreal. The portions are great, & the food quality is outstanding. Everything is freshly made & piping hot as it hits the table. This place is so good we ate there twice. I recommend the General's Beef, General's chicken, & lemon chicken. Both of these dishes are stellar. This restaurant was located within walking distance from our hotel on St. Catherine St.View more

My wife & I love Beijing restaurant food; high quality & tasty Chinese food in china town. I love their Chicken Chow Mein, Beef & two kind mushrooms & salt & spicy Shrimp. However it should be noted that the decoration is very simple like other standard Chinese restaurants.
