When I visited Montréal & found this place I was in love. Amazing atmosphere, good music, & played unique movies on a old school round screen.

Now that I moved here thing have changed. Music is good but that's about it. All the TV screens plays the same AI video with random ads (cant afford the one Youtube premium subscription apparently).

If you are looking to meet new people then forget it. Couples & Throuples fill the bar instead of tables so there is no where to sit & meet people, you know, at the bar.

Ps: agree with the other poster that there is plenty negatives to this place but bias for french is wrong. I speak only english & the staff would help me on my french.

Maybe there complaint was because as a couple they went to the bar instead of the table & where very annoying about it. I would pay extra to kick people like that off the bar!

L'un des bars les plus agréables de Montréal ; les bières sont bonnes (celle que je préfère est la Saint Ambroise), la musique pas trop forte & l'ambiance (masculine) sympa ; l'un des seuls bars gays de MTL où on échappe à ces pénibles & proliférantes drag queens. Seul regret, qu'il n'y ait pas d'évènements spéciaux comme cela existe dans le bar de Toronto homonyme, qui organise - entre autres - des soirées naked particulièrement fréquentées.

Met some local here to hang out & shoot some pool. Overall service was great at the main bar. This is a split-level bar, with upstairs seating & multiple bar areas inside & out. I imagine during warmer months it can get pretty packed - on a random Sat afternoon it was busy but not hectic,

Une véritable cathédrale au fun d'un bouge, une véritable expérience, un service hors du commun. Le décor particulier, l'absence de donc l'absence revêtement de plancher dans la salle de bain & de section interdivisoire, laisse présager c'est actif passif indominable de L'établissement. C'est un endroit renommé en sa qualité myxologique, une équipe chevronnée à l'avant-garde en la matière, un drink vous convainquera. Une ambiance envoûtante, mais si le pourboire n'est pas assez généreux à la vue du barman vous aurez droit à un drink dépourvu de saveur, d'alcool & que d'aversion si vous lui ai menssionné. Que de divertissements vous attendent.

The previous comment implied Aigle Noir is biased against non francophones. I had a very good visit here this evening, yet the most I know how to say is'j'suis désolé, mon français est très mauvais.' Perhaps that's all it took but the bartender downstairs tonight was welcoming & made my visit great. Would return ♥?

A tame sports type bar. Nothing like the Black Eagle bars in Toronto or New York.
