This fancy spot is a good place to have drinks with friends. The food is good overall, but the Striploin was overcooked. However, the roasted cauliflower was the best, & I also tried the lamb chops, which were good. (Price range: $$$) The dessert is what surprised me there! I had a blast sitting at the bar & chatting with the bartender. I would definitely go back.Voir plus
We had the most wonderful dinner here tonight. The service was absolutely stellar- our family of 4 stopped in without reservations. The waiter suggested the best shareable meals- hummus/Mediterranean plate, shrimp, gnocchi, lamb kabob. He stopped to apologize that the branzino was delayed because the chef wasn't happy with how it turned out, so they prepared another- it was the best we have ever had. The bartender prepared several gratis mock tails, & the overall experience was so wonderful. Thank you!Voir plus

Rating: 3.5/5. The dining experience was decent, with a mix of hits & misses across the menu. We started with a variety of appetizers that were good overall, though they didn't particularly stand out. The lamb chops showed promise, offering a nice flavor, but would have been better with a bit more sauce or chimichurri. There was some inconsistency in their preparation however, with variations from medium rare to nearly well done. The tagliata steak, unfortunately, didn't live up to expectations, being somewhat dry & lacking in tenderness, with a sauce that didn't do much to elevate the dish. On a positive note, the gnocchi & sea bream were well-received. The date cake was a highlight, truly excellent. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Our waitress was attentive & we appreciated her efforts, but the overall service level from other staff members, including the host & those serving water, didn't quite meet the same standard, seeming a bit lackluster. In summary, while the experience had its enjoyable moments, it didn't particularly stand out, especially considering there are other options in the same price range that might offer a more consistently pleasing experience.Voir plus

The food was very flavourful. The atmosphere is both chique & cozy. What was most noteworthy was the service from the moment we arrived at the door to the bus boy & the server we received A+ service. The server had very good knowledge of the menu, the ingredients & the flavour profiles. This is the best service I have ever received while dining. If you want a 10/10 dinner in Montreal, run to Ayla. Nestled groovy Griffintown, Ayla is where flavors go to throw a party, & let me tell you, everyone's invited! Every dish is a winner but who knew eggplant could be this exciting. It's like finding out your quiet neighbor secretly moonlights as a DJ. One question..will you come to New York? there wasnt any mediterranean vibe, my friend didnt like the food coming already sliced.. the waiter should ask in the beginning if they want it sliced or not, he also asked if there is also any side with the meat but they said no which is weird.. i took the gnochi, it was a little cold..Voir plus
We enjoyed a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Ayla on Richmond St. & only have nice things to say about our experience. The restaurant has a modern yet classic ambiance separated into two sections with a bar area acting as bridge between the two...with one section full of windows facing the street & the other area facing the courtyard at back. Both areas a smallish in size & cozy, with the noise level kept at a reasonable level (at least while we were there). The cuisine style is eclectic Mediterranean with a mix of Levantine, Greek & Italian styles. The menu is not extensive but all the dishes sounded very appealing. For our meal we indulged in the Roasted Scallops (absolutely delicious...a definite must try), Butterfly Branzino (delicious), with Roasted Cauliflower (very good), Charred Broccolini (very good) & Braised Carrots (excellent), ending with the Date Cake for dessert (very good). All in all it was an excellent meal & a great way to end 2023. Service was excellent & attentive. Special call out to Lindsay who took care of us for the evening...but there was a lot of help from the others around her. Definitely worth a visit...especially for a date night. Enjoy!Voir plus
Excellent food. We had the scallops, the cauliflower, bread & mezze plate & the Bronzino! Perfectly cooked. That was more than enough food for two, & leftovers were brought home. The Date cake is a must! The restaurant gets very loud when full, so hard to have a proper conversation. They forgot about us at the beginning but over all, service was alright.
