Avesta offers a warm, cozy Turkish dining experience in downtown Montreal with fresh bread baked on site and a menu full of authentic flavors. The atmosphere is welcoming, and service is attentive and friendly. Dishes arrive in generous portions at good value, with mezze, kebabs, manti and other classics described as flavorful and comforting. The bread and dips are standout, the grilled meats tender, and ingredients feel fresh. Desserts like baklava and kunefe are praised for balance. The spot suits families, friends, and celebrations, and many leave eager to return for the same high quality and warm hospitality.
I've tried many dishes there, but some were disappointing. The staff were friendly, especially Asel, who really enhanced the welcoming atmosphere. I've just learned she won't be working there anymore, & now I don't see much reason to return.

Food was good but not enough meat on their main courses. You only get one kafta kebab when your order a plate. Also turkish food usually comes with Bulgar wheat not rice with chick peas. Overall very good but at this price point you need to give clients for meat. Thank you!
Simple, tasty, & small cozy restaurant that serves authentic Turkish dishes. We ordered: beef Gözleme, Sadj Lamb, Avesta salad & the best of the best, Manti. All super fresh & served very quickly. We ended the night with an authentic Turkish tea. I would definitely come back to try other dishes.
If you're familiar with Turkish cuisine & have a strong craving for it, it's best to avoid this place because they serve a modified version of Turkish food. I ordered an iskender which is my favorite & I barely recognized the dish when it was served. The meat was thick & firm, there's salad next to it which has no business being there, no grilled tomato & chili, & no trace of butter. Dare I say that it's the worst iskender I had so far. It's much more disappointing because the waiter told us that their chef is Turkish. Aside from that, this place is quite overpriced & you're definitely not getting your money's worth. Great location, ambiance, & okay servers but the food missed the mark big time. Take some time to see the reviews from Turkish people who have been here.
A little loud at times especially when calling to place an order. However- we've been going for years (since they opened) & have always received outstanding food & service. For my family this is our comfort food.
I Uber ordered. The food was way below expectations. All the reviews were raving about the Manti. It was really a very boring dish, just yogurt & dumplings. Nothing worth $28! I would not pay $10 for it. The rest of the food was also very average & overpriced for the value. Would not recommend.
Look like 95% of your reviews are given by family members or paid people cause each review got soo many Pictures . Please go check other restaurants reviews people don't post that many pictures & not only that each one of your review got pictures. This is just my honest opinion. Good luck 👍
The atmosphere is pretty ok, the place looks good & it's in a very convenient location so can't complain about that. The service was good, considering it was late so they were most likely tired but it was quite nice & okay. Smiley, Joyful, good vibes all around. Now for the food though...Let me tell you this is not what I was expecting. The meat was dry & the Bulgur was honestly really bad. There was way too much Yougourt in the Manti & the meat dumpling was just such an odd food.
