The McGowan Inn opens its doors to a living room with a wood-burning fireplace and a bar, where you can enjoy a drink or a good coffee. The adjoining dining room, completely glazed, and the large terrace offer a magnificent view of Lake Memphremagog. The Inn also offers a private room that can accommodate a group of 12 people for a meeting or for a meal taken in complete privacy.
Local products are featured, including fine herbs from the Inn's garden and organic vegetables from the Jardin du Quartier, which holds a farmers' market on Saturdays in Georgeville.
Auberge McGowan is described as a stunning lakeside retreat with a recently renovated, stylish interior and breathtaking views over Lake Memphremagog, providing a setting that elevates every meal. The food generally earns high praise for quality, flavor and careful presentation, with diners enjoying everything from brunch and lunch on the terrace to refined dinners and a well regarded table d'hote, though a few notes mention small portions for the price and some inconsistency on off nights. Service is repeatedly described as warm, attentive and professional, yet a number of visits flag occasional delays, less refined service during peak times, or menu rigidity for vegetarians. The terrace ambiance is a highlight, often described as serene with sunsets, though summer evenings can bring loud live music on the terrace that makes conversation difficult. Overall, the location, decor and cuisine combine to make it a memorable experience worth returning to despite occasional price concerns and brief service snags.

Unfortunately must revise my review after years of dining at the Inn as a result of finally staying there. It seems for such a small inn there's a lack of communication & poorly run administration & service. The inn attempted to charge for more nights then actually stayed, need to show them evidence of the date called to confirm the reservation. Then after requesting that they prepare the sofa bed from my children to sleep in as we were arriving back late after a wedding, coming back to the room quite late to find it was not done. & there was no linen in the room to do it myself. A single kitchen staff member still onsite cleaning provided some linen. This was completely unacceptable for an inn of this caliber. I requested that the Manager call be back to discuss this when speaking to staff, & that call never came. The lack of accountability an unprofessionalism seems to be consistent. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. As for the restaurant, great spot for lunch with a great view of the lake. We've been here many times throughout the summer & it's always just as charming as Georgeville itself
Auberge McGowan is a charming retreat known for its exceptionally friendly service, which creates a warm & welcoming atmosphere. The small, family-owned nature of the establishment enhances this feeling, allowing for personalized attention & a sense of intimacy that larger hotels often lack. Nestled on the waterfront, the setting is both serene & picturesque, offering guests beautiful views & a tranquil environment. It is an ideal spot for my 50th birthday. Thank you for welcoming my entire family & we will definitely come back on a yearly basis.

We had a very enjoyable evening. The meal was very good. We were a bit disappointed with the soup. It lacked robust flavourful. The entertainment was very enjoyable, a nice feature. There was one family there that we knew. This added to our enjoyment of the evening. The service was friendly & very professional. We had an excellent wine at a reasonable price. The overall price of the meal was on the high side which limits the number of times we could go there. The Auberge could benefit from a more reasonably priced lunch menu that might broaden its attractiveness for the wider Georgeville community. However, we are pleased it continues to exist, continuing a tradition that goes back to the end of the nineteenth century, a real tribute to Georgeville's history.
