Afficher toutrecommend(10) steak(8) salad(8) highly recommend(6) chicken(6) plates(6) family(6) bring your own wine(5) shrimp(5) wine(5) clean(4) garlic(4)I ordered the bakaliaro/cod with garlic mash/skordalia, which was their'special' for Greek Easter. & I wanted a Greek salad instead of house. I was served 3 small fish stick style cold cod fish, a literal scoop of mash like a school cafeteria, 5 pieces of pickled beets from a jar, & a side house salad with 3 pieces of the cheapest feta, 1 tasteless hard tomato, sliced in big chunks the green pepper sliced in big chunks with some seeds still attached, a few olives & cucumbers on top of the house salad & they charged me & additional $4.50 to replace the house salad for the special price of $37. Absolutely appalling!!!! Oh & my food was served cold. I ate because I was starving & with a big group. I should have sent it back & taken a picture. But hopefully I can stop another person from this cafeteria style meal! Brutal! Do not order, stick to their staples.
Je souhaite offrir tout mes compliments au chef pour les mets suivants : Authentique souvlaki, Manhattan steak , calmars frits, escargots gratinés & la salade maison. Tout est extrêmement délicieux.
The service is good .The food is horibble the shrimps are over cook they were even chewy shell completely stuck on shrimps they gave a half garlic butter that was half full & I think was used before the salad vinegar spill ,the chicken brochette no seasoning dirty dirty restaurant .we have done over 30 Vieux Duluth we love greek food this restaurant is a real shame .
Very delicious plates, the coho salmon appetizer was like butter, the calamari was tender & tasty, we also had the beef barley soup again delicious. For the main course we had the shrimp plate, honey chicken & the steak with Caesar salad, all delicious. The staff was courteous & the service was quick. Can't go wrong with the food there, don't forget to bring your own wine.
We went there 2 weeks ago during the week, the Marcel Laurin Vieux Duluth restaurant. Service was good, no complaint there, but the food this time was not good as before. They must have changed the cook or people in the kitchen for sure, or they are saving on the ingredients! We have been going there for years, & never complained. 2 weeks ago we ordered as entrée the Escargots à la bourguignonne in garlic sauce, it was bland, no salt at all, hardly any garlic, actually 1 tiny piece of garlic you can hardly see within the butter, frankly it was not edible! We always ordered that before so many times but 2 weeks ago, it was not good & we will never order it again. We did not complain to the waiter because they should serve good food without us complaining! Then we ordered the Souvlaki plate & another plate of fish, filet doré. Both plates were OK, but the salad again was not good, very bland, dry & hardly any salad dressing on both plates' salads, almost like they just added water to the salad instead of dressing! Vieux Duluth can charge a bit more on their food so to keep the good standard but to skimp on salad dressing, & garlic, the main ingredients on the plates is no good. The owner of the Marcel Laurin Vieux Duluth should check on the food served every now & then like a quality control. We did not order dessert that day, we were not happy to stay there longer.
Service was very bad... server got me a starter I didn't ask for, got the wrong salad order.
Delicious food. I had chicken salad. The food took long to arrive, though to be fair I was part of a group of 7. They bring pitchers of water, which is nice since you can serve yourself. They also bring free bread & butter. On their website it says some ridiculous rules like you have to pay to share your food or to bring your own cake or to have salad on the side.

We have been coming to the restaurant on & off for years, however we had our last visit in Feb & will never return again. Waiters have always been nice, but the management need some serious customer service training. Plus the food is no longer competitive & the quality not so great. On our last visit, we arrived & waited in the snow until the doors were open.
Once inside, we were seated near the kitchen in the still empty restaurant by what I assume is the manager. She (the manager) then proceeded to sit at the table right next to us with one of her staff members & eat breakfast, whilst talking loudly.
We had an elderly person in our party who could only consume soft food, & we asked for a very basic substitution of no potatoes, extra rice instead, & our waitress was about to say yes (it has always been done in the past), when the manager stood up & just said no to us. A plain loud NO with no explanation, & a glare at the waitress who was too shocked & scared to counter her. We kept quiet for the saké of the terrified waitress.
Totally weird, & rude & very unfriendly. & totally unprovoked & unprofessional.
Needless to say, with her sitting beside us, eating eggs & making a lot of noise, & the sense that the last thing she wanted was customers, combined with the bland food, we have not gone back & will not go back again.
I have since started going at least 3 times a week to much friendlier Casa Grecque on St. Jean, where we get the soup & salad bar included & great service, & half the price of Vieux Duluth.
