Someone beside us had a pizza that looked very good, would go back to try. Service was great, servers were very friendly & accommodating. The atmosphere was not very comfortable, table of employees on their phones next to us, no music, small table etc.View more
What a great experience! We are stopping over in Montreal from Toronto & decided to have dinner at Alto. Service was wonderful! We ordered chicken & pork souvlaki meals & a Diablo burger. Everything was AMAZING! My son says it was the best souvlaki he's had & I completely agree. My husband is a very picky burger guy & he said it was'out of this world'. Love supporting small businesses. Try it you won't be disappointed!View more
Tried out Alto Pizzeria recently, & it was a mixed experience. The manicotti was just average-honestly, a bit dry & could have used more sauce or filling for better balance. On the other hand, the peri peri burger was the highlight! Juicy, well-grilled, & packed with flavor, it definitely stood out. The cheesy garlic bread was fine but nothing exceptional-just your standard side.
Service was polite, which is always a plus. Overall, a decent spot, but I'd probably stick to their burgers next time rather than the pasta.View more
Alto Restaurant, located on Parc Avenue in Montreal, is a staple for late-night dining, particularly popular among students in the McGill Ghetto. This long-established eatery (since 1987) serves up a variety of comfort foods, from Montreal-style pizza to burgers, poutine, & the unique "pizzaghetti." Despite a setback in 2016 due to a fire that destroyed the original location, Alto has bounced back with a loyal following & continues to offer a lively atmosphere. The restaurant is particularly known for its pizzas, including favorites like the "MACAttack," & its generous portions. It's also well-liked for its chili oil, which adds a flavorful kick to many dishes. Besides pizzas, the menu features options like hearty poutines & pasta dishes. Many patrons appreciate its friendly service & vibrant ambiance. The restaurant is open late, making it an excellent spot for a meal after a night out or a study break. Despite some minor critiques regarding portion sizes or toppings, Alto remains a beloved local spot.View more
Very cozy place with great food & the service was really nice, the Philly steak sandwich was great & the burgers tooView more
I think the Alto burger is well cooked. The bread is grilled & coat with oil, the onion is cooked & the beef petty is thoroughly cooked with perfect amount of crisps & oil. The painting inside explained the name of the restaurant, it's spanish.View more

Wow! Greek pizza was incredibly good! Service was very friendly & kind, they can speak to you in French or English, as needed. Bullseye burger is insane, really good & enormous portions. Would totally come back here!View more
To be entirely transparent, I came here out of complete desperation. I arrived in Montreal late for the weekend & to my disbelief, most restaurants are closed by 10 or 11pm. Spent almost an hour trying to find somewhere close to my hotel with "decent" food at midnight. Uber Eats claimed Alto was a top choice & reviews made it sound like it was worthwhile to go for. Ambience? Don't expect any. Very casual dining experience. Had some hip-hop playing off Spotify, a few tv's showing sports highlights. Place was mostly filled intoxicated 16-21 yr. I suppose I would see the appeal too if I was still in their demographic. Overly large menu. Way too many options. Reminds me of Pickle Barrel. & for anyone that's eaten at Pickle Barrel they'll understand what I mean. Overly large menu options is usually a sign of poor food. I personally find restaurants should stick to focusing on doing a smaller number of food options well. Versus trying to please everyone. There's probably nothing on this menu you won't find. Greek, Italian, burgers, pizza, sandwiches, subs & bar food. Anything you'd find in the freezer at your grocery store you can get here. Is it the same as what you find in the frozen section? Pretty much. I had a chicken on a pita (chicken was fresh & cooked very well so no complaints on the pita). The fries were a little on the crisper/oily side. Not my personal preference. We also ordered a cheese pizza that's cut in half with spaghetti in the middle of the plate. Interesting menu option. Pasta honestly was pretty bland. Pizza was nothing special or memorable. Our server... 😂 This was a highlight. I couldn't get a read on her. She was either miserable or hated her job. She said she had been working like 10 hours with no food or water. & can't even take a washroom break. She appeared like she just running on fumes. Not sure what the deal was with that but she was an odd one to interact with. Anyways, I can see the appeal for the youngin's.. But as an adult there's zero reason to go here unless you literally need to eat to survive & there's no other options. Overrated by far in my opinion.View more

Food was great. When first went in I was a little worried how things would taste & be. But it completely blow my wind. I had the dragon burger with fry's & a bourbon & lemonade. It taste delicious & would definitely go back. Next time out in Montreal.View more
Passed by today with family for early dinner. Something particular with this pizza place: the wings were excellent, the burger well performed & tasty fries but the cheese pizza was soggy & the lasagna sub par. First time that I feel in a pizza place all seems to be good but the pizza/pasta. I may come back for the wings though.View more
