The best brunch I've had so far in Montreal! I've eaten there twice now -- brought a larger group the second time & everyone was super happy with their food. My favourite was the benedicto! That chipotle sauce is plate-licking good (though I refrained, being in public & all). Kudos to the chef that created that.
I also love that they include coffee with the meal, & bring little fruit & smoothie & banana bread treats while you wait for your order to arrive. Such a nice touch.
I'll be returning often. Grateful to have this place in my neighborhood 💛
P.s. I saw pictures of a cute patio setup on Google Maps but there was no sign of it in person, curious what happened to that! Would love to hang on the patio with a smoothie sometime if it ever opens back up.
absolutely delicious! the mexican sauces were very flavorful & authentic. I ordered the encacahuatadas & the corazón smoothie, my boyfriend got the breakfast burrito & mango smoothie, all excellent! the staff were super sweet & friendly.
I went for brunch time.
It was not a so busy day. Right away, I've been welcomed by the staff & could dive into a cosy ambiance, checking on the menu.
Service : All the time, the service was good, our waitress was paying attention to the table, servings lots of samples so we could feel cherished. Not too present, just what it needs so we know we are being taken care of.
Menu: the menu is really diverse, & prices are what you expect for a restaurant these days.
Food: the food was ok. That was the main downside for me. My fruits had been cut for a while, & did not look very fresh (my watermelon & mandarin were clearly dehydrated ahah). My friends had fresh fruits though. My dish was mainly sauce based, which was not to my taste. I could not differentiate the ingredients taste, or appreciate the blend. To me it was mainly sauce. I would not recommend the chilaquiles.
All in all I do not think I'll go back, but my friends are always going there so I guess you'll have to try :).
If you're looking for an authentic taste of Mexico in Montreal, Alejandro is a must-visit. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance transports you to a little corner of Mexico.
The food is truly exceptional & captures the essence of Mexican flavors. We started with the tortilla soup, which was a little spicy & great consistency. The chile en nogada was a standout dish-the combination of the stuffed poblano pepper with the creamy nogada sauce was perfectly balanced & incredibly flavorful. For drinks, the coffee was excellent & La Rana smoothie was a refreshing & delicious treat.
The staff is friendly & the service is great, making for an all-around wonderful dining experience. Alejandro is a fantastic spot for anyone craving delicious, authentic Mexican brunch.
We had an incredible breakfast at Alejandro in Montreal. This spot is a must-visit for anyone looking for flavourful brunch dishes with a Mexican twist. We tried the Benedicto, chilaquiles, & poblano omelette, & every bite was delicious. The eggs on the Benedict were perfectly poached medium, the sauce was rich & smooth, & the shredded chipotle ham added just the right balance of sweet & spicy.
Before our meals, the staff treated us to a fresh fruit plate, a smoothie shot, & a slice of walnut banana bread. Such thoughtful touches & great value. The ambiance was warm & welcoming, making it a perfect spot for weekend brunch or a casual breakfast in Montreal. If you're searching for authentic Mexican brunch, Alejandro should be at the top of your list.
Alejandro is a fantastic spot for brunch, offering a delicious menu with a vibrant Mexican twist. The Eggs Benedict with chipotle sauce was absolutely incredible-perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. The smoothies were not only refreshing but also packed with fresh, natural flavors. The service was exceptional; the staff were warm, attentive, & genuinely helpful. To top it off, the interior design is both stylish & cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a leisurely meal. Highly recommend this gem in Montreal!
Our server was really sweet enough, but the food just didn't cut it. Got the enchiladas & it was dry & the I was not a fan of the sauce. The omelette was also not great. 2/3 of our means we didn't enjoy at all. Won't be going back, there are a ton of better brunch places in the city.
Unexpectedly, this was one of the best meals I had in a recent visit to Montreal. They have a nice outdoor seating area, great for sunny days. I ordered the Encacahuatadas (chicken + black bean enchiladas with tomato sesame peanut sauce). It was fantastic! Though I would have preferred that the dish was warmer when it arrived at table. Also, I thought the orange juice was kind of thin & lacking in flavor. The little mini-smoothie amuse bouche was delicious & a nice beginning to the meal.
