49th Parallel Micro-Torréfacteur Cafe opens its doors in Montreal at its first ever location outside of British Columbia in the summer of 2021. Finding and creating this space was a long, occasionally challenging but always interesting process that took over a year to complete!
The space itself, its location in the heart of Old Montreal and the building’s history were an obvious draw. This was a labour of love from all the people involved in the project, from the contractor to the designer – everyone came together to preserve the charm of the old building with its exposed 100 year old bricks and stone masonry while bringing it to life with a sleek retro design.
Our fourth Café features the 49th coffee everyone knows and loves, Lucky’s donut menu revamped with reimagined Quebec classics and a full kitchen featuring breakfast egg burgers and seasonal brunch offerings (coming soon).

Doughnuts place from Vancouver. The doughnuts are really good. Many options to choose. Coffee is not that good, from my personal opinion. I ordered latte & feel like they put too much milk that it looks like milk with coffee flavor. Parking available with the fee along the streetView more
View more
The best coffee & donuts! The barista suggested the maple latte & it was incredible. The vanilla glazed donut was my favorite. Friendly staff with a cozy cafe atmosphere. The donuts sell out so make sure you get there early for the good flavors. There was a bit of a line but it moved fast. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!View more
One of the best donuts in North America. Coffee: As usual cold & watery. Sometimes these cafes are overrated. Funky baristas not interested in listening to the customer & not sure if they use 3.75% milk or 1%. Latte & Cappuccino were watery like Tim horton french vanilla. Starbucks gets a lot of rap but atleast their Latte is milky & foamy & Extra hot is extra hot.View more
Cafe latte was so good. The place is so cute & staffs are friendly 😍View more
Stumbled upon this spot for some iced lattes on a Sunday afternoon. Great coffee, pleasant service, & a very cute setting.View more
Pretty coffee shop in old Montreal with great iced lattes. For the donuts, I'd personally go for the vanilla glaze!View more
View more
TOO EXPENSIVE. I ordered the Avo for 13$ +tx & received a brioche bun with 3 of the thinnest slices of avocado you can imagine. Absolute rip off. Then the chai latte with oat milk came to 8,50$ ! It was good, therefor 2 stars. But WAY too little for way too much money.View more
On a cold winter morning, I decided to order a hot chocolate here. I also took the opportunity to taste their vegan donuts. They have assorted flavours (matcha, rainbow sprinkles, red fruits & flowers, sprinkled candy, triple chocolate, vanilla). I'm so delighted, the vegan donuts are also gluten-free! They are baked instead of fried. The glaze is sooo sweet, it feels heavy to eat these for breakfast. 😵💫 The hot chocolate came out with pretty latte art. 😍 However, my throat felt scorched dry for the rest of the day after drinking it. 🔥 I suspect the roasted cacao to be the culprit.View more
Wonderful tea time with family. Latte was really goodView more
49th Parallel is a great cafe with the perfect ambiance to study, eat, & relax. The selection of desserts there is wide, & everything is delicious. I often go for their chai latte, but their coffees are super yummy, too. The staff are all very friendly & seem to know a lot about their coffee. It is one of my favorite cafes around the area.View more
Very good lattes & a tempting selection of lucky donuts. Nice seating in the back by the Expresso counter.View more
Quite a bit crowded. Has portals to charge your phone. The latte & baked goods are nice but the machiato is very bitter & quite small for the priceView more
Overpriced coffee for a not very good coffee, if you like to enjoy a cafe with nice interior this is an okay place but however the coffee is not the best some of the baristas here lack skills & they might mess up your latte art so if you're looking for a cute social media picture you may want to consider your options it was a hit or miss for me a few times I went there & every time I ordered a coffee was either the prettiest latte art or the most terrible looking like a drawing from a 6 year old, ambiance & presentation is very important for a $7 coffee(small) & after I mentioned this to the barista she told me to "just think of it as abstract art" & didn't even offer to redo it, especially in the area of old port you can find so many great cafes with great coffees & aesthetically appealing, this place is more like a donut house where you can also get coffee with it so more like a fancy overpriced Krispy Kreme. very disappointed in the presentation & the attitudeView more
Perfect cappuccino ☕ & latte & you have to try sandwich 🥪 avoView more
