Very disappointing experience at 1001 Nuits in Montreal. For the price they charge for the all-you-can-eat buffet, I expected a much better selection & significantly better food quality.
The dessert selection was particularly disappointing. For an all-you-can-eat buffet at this price point, I expected a proper variety of desserts, but the few options available were mostly variations of rice- or bread-based desserts. There was very little that actually felt like a proper dessert selection.
The sashimi selection was also extremely limited. More frustratingly, I ordered tuna sashimi several times, but it was never brought to our table despite repeated requests.
Several of the hot dishes were also below average. The Pad Thai, Udon, Singaporean noodles, & fried rice lacked the quality & flavor I would expect from a restaurant charging this much. To make matters worse, the beef teriyaki was served cold.
Overall, I found the food quality, selection, & service disappointing relative to the price. At this price per person, you can have a genuinely excellent dinner for two at many other restaurants in Montreal. I would not consider this buffet good value for money & unfortunately would not recommend it based on my experience.

Pire buffet a volonté de notre vie. On était aller entre amis pour le menu du midi, les sushis servies etait sec comme du sable, & ils nous ont servi 2 assiettes aprés 20 minute, quand on a passer la 2eme commande, on a attendu de 12h55 a 13h35, soit 40 minutes, sans rien. Vu que le buffet fermait a 3h, que les articles servies était de qualité médiocre, & l'attente interminable, on est aller a la réception pour règler & partir a un aute buffet, on a chacun mangé 4 sushis & un nugget de poulet teriyaki, pour 26$!!!. Sans oublier qu'un de leur serveur ma repondu'i dont speak french' quand je lui est posé une question, on est au quebec icitte! Perte d'argent & de temps.
We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant for the first time, so unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing. We went for the all-you-can-eat dinner, & the sushi we had was fresh & the rolls tasted good. However, for the price, there was a pretty severe lack of options, both in terms of sushi selection & the kitchen items available. The dishes we tried from the kitchen were good, but nothing particularly stood out or blew us away.
We also found the advertising online to be quite deceiving compared to what was actually available on the all-you-can-eat menu. The variety shown in the advertisements gave us the impression that there would be a much larger selection to choose from, which unfortunately wasn't the case.
Overall, we don't feel it's worth the nearly $50 per person. Given the limited selection & the difference between what was advertised & what was actually offered, we likely won't be returning.
At that price point, there are several other restaurants we would much rather go to, which offer a much better selection & overall experience for the same price.
Très mauvaise expérience. La nourriture ne semblait vraiment pas fraîche & les portions étaient extrêmement petites pour le prix. J'ai goûté un sushi & j'ai eu immédiatement envie de vomir tellement le goût & la texture étaient mauvais. En plus, il n'y avait pratiquement aucune présentation dans les assiettes.
Quand nous avons signalé notre insatisfaction à la serveuse, sa réponse a simplement été que « tout le monde en mange ». J'ai pourtant mangé des sushis dans plusieurs restaurants auparavant &, selon mon expérience, ce qu'on nous a servi ici n'avait rien à voir avec des sushis de qualité.
Entre la fraîcheur, les quantités, la présentation & la façon dont notre plainte a été reçue, je suis extrêmement déçu & je ne recommande pas cet endroit.
I came here with my in-laws 2 days ago & forgot to leave a review.
To keep it short, food was delicious, we came for the lunch service & ended up leaving very satisfied. General Tao was great however portions could be a tad bit bigger for the teriyaki beef, the flavor makes up for it though. Service was nice although sometimes a little too chatty, but where is the harm in that? We will certainly be back.
Very slow on bringing out the food & orders were always incomplete. Service is passable a best. No dedicated hostess. Had to wait for 3-4 tables to pay before the person at he front could get me a table. Choices were very limited as well.
