Cabane à Sucre Gagnon offers a warm, intimate atmosphere with very friendly staff, and the sesame bread and pouding chômeur are noted as excellent. Beyond that, the rest of the experience falls short: the pea soup tastes like nothing, the salad is OK, the beans with lard are too runny, too dark and overly sweet from molasses, the omelette has no flavor and is overcooked, the ham is passable but not much, with little bacon only in the salad, and the house sausages are basically boiled hot dogs cut into pieces with a hint of maple syrup. The whole meal lasts about an hour and a half, and the maple candy on snow was not pursued. It is a nice, intimate spot with a lot of potential, but the food is disappointing.View restaurant profile
