As the first vegan-Italian restaurant in Montreal, vegans had high expectations for Vegano. Luckily, they delivered. They do brunch like it’s nobody’s business. The portions are huge, and their cakes are amazing. At night, they serve typical Italian dishes. Oh! And to top it off, it’s a BYOW.

This place is a 100% vegan grocery store. They also have a menu which consists of breakfast dishes, burgers and poutine. You can eat there (they have a small eating area) or order it for take-out. Do like I do and order a Portuguese poutine before shopping. After all, it’s not recommended to do groceries on an empty stomach.

57cals arrived as a gift given by the vegan gods. They are the first all-vegan restaurant in Laval. They serve wraps, falafels and burgers, just to name a few. I can’t get enough of their mixed plate, where you get vegan beef, vegan chicken, salad, fries, hummus, homemade vegan mayo and pita bread.

ChuChai is my go-to restaurant if I want to impress omnivores. It’s a nice, trendy place that offers delicious Thai cuisine. Their mock meat is on point. My personal favorite: their crispy duck. It always brings me back to when I used to eat at Asian restaurants in my BV (Before Vegan) days.

Considered to be a healthy fast food kind of place, Délicieux Veg Fusion is notorious for their wide variety of ice cream and sorbet. They also offer colourful bowls, smoothies and a brunch menu. Their dishes are inspired by the flavours found all around the world.

Recently moved to a bigger location, Sushi Momo can now serve more patrons at a time. It doesn’t prevent them from constantly being packed, and it’s easy to see why. Their ingredients are fresh and flavourful. The ingenuity behind every sushi rolls is close to perfection. Vegans and omnivores alike go nuts for this place. Keep an eye out for Komomo, a take-out service provided by them.

Located in Bois-des-Filions, La Station Organique is a cute little café serving bowls, sandwiches, burgers, smoothies, cookies, coffee and more. In the summer, you can eat outside with your dog. They put out a water bowl for your furry friend to cool down while you enjoy your meal.

If you have ever looked at the vegan section in a grocery store, you’ve probably seen Gusta products. However, they also have a location at the Jean-Talon Market where they serve comfort food made with their products. Expect to find burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. You can also buy products that you wouldn’t normally find at your local grocery store.

Offering a casual dining experience, there’s a lot to choose from at Vegan Rapide. Everything is made with love, care and originality. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home. The only problem I have encountered there is having a hard time choosing what to order. Everything looks delicious.

This list wouldn’t be complete without Copper Branch. This popular fast food franchise is making vegan food more accessible for everybody. I’m really into their bowls lately and with locations across Montreal, North and South Shores, I know I can get my fix wherever I go.

As the first vegan-Italian bakery in Montreal, Café Dei Campi offers a wide variety of pastries that are to die for. My personal favorites: their fauxtella bombas and zeppoles. But always keep an eye out for them. They don’t always serve the bombas and the zeppoles only appear once a year, kind of like Santa Claus, but for San Guiseppe.
