Last Saturday, my husband and I took my mother-in-law to Piazza Romana to celebrate her 76th birthday. We were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this restaurant located on the waterfront in Pointe Claire. We found the restaurant to have a very warm ambiance which was heightened by the tastefully decorated cream walls, a glowing fireplace and mantle in the centre room, large windows overlooking the Pointe Claire village and shops, comfortable seating and soft music playing in the background. Being of Italian descent and having a very refined palette for all good things, we were very impressed by the quality of the Italian main fare that came to our table. I had the lasagne and a salad mista which was very well-seasoned with oil and balsamic vinegar. My husband had a plate of rigatoni with bolognes sauce and my mother-in law had a smoked salmon salad as a starter and a veal with mushroom sauce with a side order of penne and tomato sauce. All the servings were substantial. The wine and the espresso/cappuccino were very good. The service provided by the attentive staff was impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to enjoy a very relaxing lunch or dinner surrounded by beautiful scenery both inside and outside the restaurant.
