I LOVE this place. Discovered it on a weird date and loved it forever. I enjoy the creative sandwiches, I love it that the food is all "home made". I never skip their amazing and natural soups, I devour a huge sandwich and sip an espresso milkshake made of REAL espresso they make on the spot- does it get ANY better? Yes, it does - order a slice of cake (they serve cakes with whipped cream on 1 side, fruits on the other) - My oh my. The service is a bit aloof as the waiters seem to all be travellers and - Yes, it may seem a little costly, but for what you get, it's totally worth it. All in all? Love the place and often crave my visits to this little quirky spot. In the summer, ask to sit in the garden, in the winter - the library. VERY PLATEAU-Artsy-Yogi-Casual.

Went to Jun I for my birthday... Before going there I saw the website and the menu, which made me want to go try the food. I saw that the prices were equal to a very famous expensive sushi spot in Montreal (I'm sure I needn't name it) - which made me raise my expectation level as to the restaurant. I have to say the food was delectable, yes, but I find my dinner kept tasting less and less good every time my eyes hit the tasteless wall-paper sporting some weird naked trees. Bad decor DOES make a difference. I could not believe a place that serves that kind of food at that kind of price tag could afford such a lousy look and a lousy atmpsphere where it came to music and the noise level. Top that off with a waiter that came by way too many times to see if he can take my plate away, after I had told him at least 3 times that I intend to eat all the sushi I ordered (12 pieces in total for $70) . Yeah, it can take me some minutes when I am chatting with my date and staring into his eyes... but that's what I come out to dine for : the atmosphere, the relaxed moment in company of people and good food. As girls will be girls- I have to admit the dessert was not good either, had the white chocolate and green tea mousse that was recommended by the waiter and it was way too sweet to even taste any flavour. Jun I is overpriced even if the food is good; I am going to keep my feet and wallet at the other very good sushi place...

Went to Leméac for a nice dinner with my friend. We heard it was good and reserved on a Saturday night. The place was busy so it took a bit of time to get our order but all in all everything was just a pleasure. From entrée to dessert the food was very tasty, especially the fish soup, I went to heaven on that one and almost ordered a 2nd one right after. We ate the rare stuff, I got the beef tartar and my friend the salmon and we both felt the portions were way more than enough. The dessert menu was fun and had something for any craving - I loved it. Wine list was extensive and the "22$ menu at 10pm" kept our bill to within the $110 mark with some wine and all the food we needed for the night. A place I would recommend to others and surely go back very soon!

This place is simply a DIAMOND in the rough! I am so glad I stumbled upon it almost by mistake and I enjoyed it throughly and went back the very same week, then the following few days later. It's simply great! You love sushi? They have great sushi, ever so appetizing, plates give you lots of food, salads are flavourful, fish is fresh and soft, taste is delicous. Service was A1, it has been a while since I saw such attentive waiters anywhere on the island! In one word, Aikawa is a delight. The bill at the end of the night was less than half of what we'd pay for 2 people at a close by competitor/ downtown famous spot, and we felt that it was 10 times more worth it! Reserve and go there for a date/ special occasion, or just cuz you feel like having some great sushi!
