Montreal's Public Markets Turn Into Holiday Villages - Event

Event Details

Event Description

The most magical time of the year is back at Montreal's Public Markets! Over four festive weekends, the city's markets will come alive with lights, music, and family-friendly activities to celebrate the holiday season.

The festivities kick off at Marché Maisonneuve on November 29th and 30th from 10am to 4pm with a lively neighborhood celebration. In partnership with the Borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the event will feature free outdoor activities including inflatable games, choirs, live music, DJs, and a festive market with about fifteen local vendors offering gourmet products and tableware. Indoors, the CCSE Maisonneuve will host the ninth edition of the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Artisans Fair, showcasing over 20 exhibitors, a collective mural, and a craft workshop for children.

The celebrations continue at Marché Jean-Talon for three consecutive weekends (December 5th-7th, 12th-14th, and 19th-21st) from 1pm to 8pm on Fridays and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors can browse an outdoor holiday market featuring local food vendors and enjoy a wide range of free activities, from watercolor workshops and Christmas storytelling to visits from Santa Claus. New this year, the market will stay open later on Fridays for a festive evening atmosphere with DJs, perfect for a winter apéro by the outdoor fire pits.

Finally, Marché Atwater will once again host the beloved La Lutinerie Christmas Village from November 27th to December 21st on the Atwater Market Square. Visitors can expect a joyful mix of artisans, entertainment, and Santa visits throughout the month.

With cozy charm, local products, and fun for the whole family, Montreal's Public Markets are once again set to capture the spirit and sparkle of the holiday season right in the heart of the city.
