Fringale: A Gourmet Festival to Discover the Flavors of Saint-Léonard 2025 - Event
Ad

Food lovers will definitely have no shortage of opportunities to indulge in culinary discoveries in Montreal this summer. After Yatai, Les Premiers Vendredis, Cho Ðêm MTL, the Asian Night Market, Italfest, and many others - including Pocha and Ramen Fest still to come - it's now Saint-Léonard's turn to join the party with Fringale, a brand-new food festival taking over Jean-Talon East Street (between Dollier and Valdombre) for five weekends throughout August.

With this new event, the SDC Jean-Talon Est and the City of Montreal aim to take your taste buds on a journey and help you discover the flavors of Saint-Léonard - a neighborhood known for its multicultural spirit, particularly its Italian community. Each weekend of the festival will focus on a different culinary theme, starting with Italy from August 2 to 4.
Up next:

  • Asia - August 9 to 11

  • Maghreb & the Middle East - August 16 to 18

  • Caribbean & Latin America - August 23 to 25

  • World Tour - August 30 to September 2

More than 20 restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and pastry shops from the neighborhood will be participating - including Alati (home to what many say are the best cannolis in town), La Bella Italiana, Café Buongiorno, Takashi, Phở Khánh Hoà, Les Délices d'Aden, Chilango, Tostadito, and Épiceskay, to name just a few. Each business will offer tasting portions of their specialties for $8 or less (before tax).

A tasting zone will also be set up at Terrasse de Léon (corner of Jean-Talon and Lacordaire), with lots of giveaways throughout the event - including passes to the "Banquet" interactive exhibit at the Montreal Science Centre and even a Nintendo Switch OLED.

✨ For more details, check out the official website or the SDC Jean-Talon Est Facebook page.

Happy discovering!
