Chandni and Dalia revisited Kwizinn in the Old Port, this time to explore their new Caribbean fusion brunch. The experience was elevated by nostalgic'90s and 2000s music, instantly taking Dalia back to her clubbing days. Chef Mike served a delicious array of dishes, including an Octopus Carpaccio, creamy mac & cheese, flavorful shakshuka, and perfectly fluffy pancakes. Chandni even got a behind-the-scenes look in the kitchen, witnessing the chefs' artistry firsthand. A big thank you to Chef Mike and Claudia for their warm hospitality and for bringing the vibrant flavors and vibes of a Caribbean beach to life!

Montréal en Lumières Media Launch

Rébecca was thrilled to attend the press conference for the 26th edition of the Montréal en Lumière festival, a key event in the city's gastronomic and cultural scene. Held in the stunning new Banque Nationale tower, a festival sponsor, the event offered breathtaking views of Old Montréal, setting the perfect stage for an exciting morning of culinary previews.

This year, the festival highlights artisans and female chefs, striving for gender parity, a notable step forward in the culinary world that deeply impressed Rébecca. The program is packed with over 60 Bonnes Tables Air France, more than 80 guest chefs from eight countries, including Michelin-starred names, and the return of popular brunches and afternoon tea offerings.

Rébecca was especially excited about the newly designed gourmet space at Place des Festivals, imagining the rich aromas of international cuisine in a magical winter setting. With the Nuit Blanche adding an all-night celebration of culture, the festival promises an unforgettable experience.

Chandni and Dalia had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Sauvage, a high-end Mediterranean restaurant in the Old Port with bold, sultry vibes, perfect for a memorable night out. They sampled the Wednesday menu, a 4-course meal with wine pairings for $135, and it exceeded all expectations. Chef Sary Hussein's expertly crafted dishes balanced unique flavors beautifully, from the crispy tortillitas de camarones and tender lamb shank to the decadent Basque cheesecake, creating a remarkable culinary journey.

A highlight of the evening was the sommelier's visit, where he thoughtfully explained the wine pairings for each course. Despite Dalia's usual preference against red wine and Chandni's general indifference to wine, his recommendations complemented each dish perfectly. This unforgettable dining experience was a perfect blend of culinary artistry and warm hospitality-a night they'll treasure for a long time!

After an incredible dinner at Restaurant Sauvage, Dalia and Chandni wrapped up their evening at Kwizinn's new pop-up Speakeasy Secrets bar, located in the basement, a festive and fun way to get into the Christmas spirit! Featuring 8 expertly crafted holiday cocktails and mouthwatering Caribbean fusion pizza, it was the ultimate cozy escape. The music was on point, the atmosphere buzzing, and every moment was pure joy. They're already looking forward to its reopening…perhaps with a Cupid and hearts theme for Valentine's Day?

This wasn't Dalia and Chandni's first visit to Maison Sauvage, and if they're willing to drive all the way from Laval and Brossard to the Mile-End for drinks and cookies, you know it's worth it! Chandni even claims these might be some of the best cookies in Montreal. This time, however, they took their indulgence to the next level with Maison Sauvage's incredible homemade creamy Viennese hot chocolate served with crème fraîche, their signature cloud latte, and festive Christmas-themed cookies. Who needs a trip to Paris for the viral TikTok hot chocolate when Maison Sauvage delivers the same magic right here in Montreal? Crafted with fresh, all-natural ingredients and a lot of love, everything here is a must-try. Next time you're in the neighborhood, don't miss out-you'll thank us later!

Where to even begin with Birbante? This new Mile-End gem, brought to life by the talented team behind La Panzeria, has quickly earned a spot as one of Dalia and Chandni's favorite restaurants. From the moment they stepped inside, they were captivated by the chic, retro Milano 70s-inspired decor that perfectly balances nostalgia with style.

The menu may be concise, but it's packed with flavor. Dalia kicked off the evening with a bold Birbantello Negroni, while Chandni opted for the sweet and refreshing Birbante Iced Tea cocktail. Their antipasti selection was a feast for both the eyes and palate, featuring Scallop Crudo, Bruschetta with'Nduja and stracciatella, and a standout Endive salad with Cantabrico anchovies, raspberries, and pistachios. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with unique flavors, making it nearly impossible to pick a favorite.

For the Primi, they shared two exceptional dishes: the Creste di Gallo alla Bolognese and the cheesy Risotto alla Milanese, infused with saffron and topped with guanciale. Chandni, a saffron lover, declared the risotto her favorite, though both dishes disappeared from the table in record time.

As a Secondi, they enjoyed the perfectly cooked Contre-Filet served with a vibrant cilantro salsa verde. The combination of tender meat and refreshing sauce was an undeniable hit.

Dessert brought the meal to a perfect close with a classic tiramisu and a molten chocolate cake with raspberry coulis. Even Dalia, not typically a fan of tiramisu or chocolate desserts, was won over by the molten cake, while Chandni loved its decadence.

Birbante is a must-visit for anyone seeking incredible food, creative flavors, and a nostalgic yet stylish atmosphere. Don't miss it!

Dalia was thrilled to attend the opening of Tommy Café's new location at Royalmount, situated right in front of the outdoor skating rink. Bringing her daughter along, they were immediately captivated by the stunning décor, where every detail had been thoughtfully designed. From the beautiful 100-year-old door to the 80-year-old church pew, the space exuded charm and character.

The visit began with a delightful amuse-bouche and refreshing Flora & Gia Tommy Fizz drinks. A visit to Tommy wouldn't be complete without indulging in their famous Avo-Toast. Dalia opted for the fan-favorite Lox with smoked salmon, while her daughter enjoyed the Suzy, topped with eggs and bacon.

To wrap up the meal, Dalia savored a creamy almond latte, while her daughter chose the festive Moka Peppermint, paired with a decadent shortbread cookie filled with dulce de leche cream and fresh strawberries.

If you're visiting Royalmount, this gorgeous new spot is a must-see. Tommy Café's inviting ambiance and delectable menu promise an experience not to be missed!

RestoMontreal's Team Christmas Party

The RestoMontreal team chose Bazart for their annual Christmas party this year, and it couldn't have been a better setting. The Mediterranean restaurant, inspired by the bohemian charm of Tulum and Mykonos, created the perfect mix of relaxed yet vibrant vibes, complete with enchanting decor and a live DJ spinning beachside beats that lit up the night.

The evening began with a variety of appetizers that set the tone for the meal. Chandni was especially impressed by the fresh oysters, and the incredible mezze dishes, paired with warm, fluffy charcoal flatbreads that everyone loved. The transition to heartier plates was seamless, with crowd favorites like beef with salsa verde and fish cooked with chermoula, lemon, olive oil, baby potatoes, and broccolini-perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor.

The lively atmosphere made the evening all the more memorable, with Rébecca appreciating the sharing plates concept that added a convivial, engaging touch to the dining experience. Chandni, a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine, was delighted by the thoughtful presentation and flavors that didn't disappoint. For Dalia, the decadent roasted chocolate dessert topped with hazelnut, creamy caramel, and milk crumble was the perfect way to cap off the night.

From the exceptional food to the festive ambiance, Bazart provided the ideal backdrop for the team to unwind, celebrate, and enjoy each other's company. It was an unforgettable night that will surely set the bar high for next year's party!
