Terrasse R Montréal
1250 Boulevard Robert-Bourassa, Montreal, H3B 3B8
Located on the rooftop of the Renaissance Montreal Hotel in the heart of downtown, Terrasse R returns for the 2026 season with everything that has made it a favorite over the years: sweeping views of the city skyline, a chic yet welcoming atmosphere, and one of the most beautiful spots to enjoy summer evenings in Montreal. This year, the venue is placing a special focus on group gatherings, private events, and celebrations while continuing to welcome after-work drinks, dinners with friends, and sunny business lunches.
Spread across two levels at the top of the hotel, the rooftop maintains all the elements that have defined its charm season after season: a relaxed summer atmosphere, a large central bar, modern furnishings, lush greenery, and several thoughtfully designed spaces to take in the views of Montreal. The moment you step onto the terrace, the pace of the city seems to slow down. Even in the middle of downtown, it feels like the àperfect place to enjoy a drink, a meal, or a long summer evening stretching into sunset.

Private Events Above the City
With its covered and heated section, Terrasse R succeeds where many Montreal rooftops are forced to slow down at the slightest change in weather. Here, the atmosphere remains just as inviting rain or shine, making it a highly sought-after venue for private events and celebrations throughout the season.
From intimate weddings and corporate events to birthdays, product launches, and after-work gatherings, the rooftop can accommodate up to 120 guests and offers three customizable event packages tailored to each group's needs. The goal is simple: provide a central, elegant, and flexible space without the overly formal feel that some event venues can have. Whether for a lively celebration, a professional gathering, or a more intimate occasion, the team easily adapts the experience to suit each event.

A Major Milestone: Terrasse R Celebrates 10 Years
This year also marks an important milestone for Terrasse R as it officially celebrates its 10th anniversary on June 10 with a special event that will set the tone for the entire summer season.
Guests can expect a DJ from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., tastings, partner activations, giveaways, and a festive atmosphere throughout the evening. Wine and spirits importer and distributor Dandurand will be among the collaborators on site, showcasing Quebec-made Amermelade and Italian prosecco La Gioiosa during an event designed to feel like the ultimate summer happy hour above the city.
The celebration promises to bring together rooftop regulars, downtown professionals, visitors, and terrace enthusiasts in an atmosphere that perfectly reflects the spirit of the venue. Between music, cocktails, and sunset views over downtown Montreal, everything is in place to officially kick off the summer season.
Three additional events will also punctuate the summer with the Rooftop Sunset Sessions, scheduled for July 9, August 6, and August 22. These evenings will feature a festive blend of DJ sets, tastings, and sunset views above the city.
Designed as extended summer evenings rather than one-off events, the Sunset Sessions will offer guests the chance to experience the rooftop in an even more vibrant atmosphere.

Fresh Cuisine and New Signature Cocktails
On the culinary side, Terrasse R continues to draw inspiration from Asian flavors while introducing several seasonal updates for 2026. The menu remains fresh, colorful, and perfectly suited to sharing during a sunny afternoon or a summer evening that lingers long after sunset.
The kitchen continues to focus on dishes that are both light and flavorful, making them ideal for a quick lunch between colleagues or a festive dinner accompanied by cocktails. Tartares, poké bowls, burgers, shareable plates, and dishes inspired by Asian cuisine make up a large portion of the summer menu.

The cocktail menu still features its crowd favorites while introducing several new house creations crafted specifically to reflect the essence of Terrasse R. With fruity cocktails, floral notes, refreshing citrus, and bolder flavor profiles, the selection was designed for both lovers of reimagined classics and those looking for something refreshing to sip in the sun.
The Sakura combines Ward vodka, lavender syrup, yuzu, and soda in a light and floral cocktail, while the Yuzu Sour offers a richer, balanced blend of whisky, maple syrup, lemon, yuzu, and egg white. For something fruitier, the Pink Koi mixes Ward vodka, Fragoli, Soho, lime, and soda into a bright and summery creation. Finally, the Shaarotto leans into deeper flavors with Crown Royal, Amermelade, Triple Sec, St-Germain, and lemon.
Through this new cocktail menu, it is clear that the goal is to create drinks that perfectly complement the rooftop experience: refreshing, summer-inspired flavors that are easy to enjoy while the atmosphere gradually transitions from day to night.

A Rooftop That Moves with the Rhythm of Montreal
Thanks to its prime downtown location, Terrasse R attracts a diverse crowd throughout the day. Professionals gather for lunch meetings, while tourists stop by for a break above the city after exploring Montreal. Its proximity to the Bell Centre, major hotels, downtown offices, and many summer festivals also makes it an especially appealing destination during the warmer months.
Whether before a show, after a workday, or simply to enjoy a warm evening in the city, the rooftop adapts seamlessly to Montreal's rhythm while maintaining its laid-back atmosphere.

As evening approaches, the energy naturally shifts into something more vibrant. Cocktails flow, conversations linger, and the terrace quickly becomes a gathering place for those looking to extend their summer nights without leaving downtown.
With its covered and heated space, seasonal programming, private event options, and stunning views over Montreal, Terrasse R continues to establish itself as one of the city's must-visit rooftops. A place where people come both to celebrate and simply enjoy a drink with a view, one floor above it all.
