The Legendary Peel Pub Montreal is returning downtown after a sudden closure, reopening at 1196 Peel Street for St. Patrick's Day with new investors reviving a 60-year legacy and a 2026 refresh, offering wings, pizza and burgers, a fresh menu and 24 draft beers, plus wider sports coverage featuring soccer and classic North American games.

After a sudden closure that left Montrealers mourning the loss of a 60-year-old institution, the iconic Peel Pub is officially making a comeback. Located at 1196 Peel Street, the beloved sports bar is slated to reopen its doors just in time for St. Patrick's Day.

Bought out by a new group of investors, the incoming administration aims to revive the classic Peel Pub tradition while giving it a much-needed modern refresh for 2026. Patrons can expect to see the return of familiar pub staples like affordable wings, pizza, and burgers, alongside an inspired, updated menu and 24 carefully selected draft beers. The revitalized pub will also expand its sports broadcasting to feature more international events, such as soccer, alongside classic North American games.

Whether you're a longtime regular or a new student in the city, the return of this downtown staple is sure to bring back the lively, unpretentious atmosphere Montrealers have loved since 1962.
