Stopped here for lunch because we heard they had great smoked meat sandwiches. We heard right! Delicious egg bread, delicious rye bread. Hot or cold sandwiches made to order. We chose the hot pastrami & it was absolutely the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Just the smell unwrapping it was heavenly.
This is not the kind of sandwich where it's all bread & little meat. The meat was piled high. Walked to the shady park a block away from the residential street it corners on with picnic tables & benches to enjoy it- & boy did we!
No tables there, but great carryout business.
The deli has lots of other items too. Many items to take home & fix: pierogi choices, god pickles, sausages, & the kind of poppyseed rolls I remember from childhood Polish bakery experiences. Wonderful food makes wonderful memories- also the lady making the sandwiches was a real sweetie.
I know there were many items there that I am forgetting- but everyone who passed through while we were there was focused on their sandwiches, like we were. Highly recommend- you'll be back.
PS Very reasonable prices for that amount of meat-$12. That's awesome these days.

Dropped by for the hot smoked meat sandwich, was delicious. Generous portions, the bun was good, nice change from the usual eye. Comes with cheese.

Owner was very nice & welcoming. Will come again to try other things!

Such an iconic deli & Angel is so sweet & authentic with her clients. I can't help but try something new every visit but what keeps me coming back is tradition, every Easter for kolbasa, Ukrainian sweets & egg raps. She had these really nice bread molds so I made smaller Paskas than usual this year & they came out lovely.

A tradition to make the trek from the south shore at Easter for breads, candies, Kovbasa & all things Ukrainian. The owner is truly a sweetheart. No time for a sandwich this time so I guess I'll be back. They are amazing.

The owner is so kind & sweet. We make sure to stop by every time we're in town. Great authentic kabanos, kovbasa & sandwiches made fresh on the spot. We also always leave with a little something for the ride home ☺?
