Review Summary

Yumi Burger receives polarized feedback regarding its smash burgers, with many customers praising the flavorful, halal-certified patties and signature sauce as some of the best in Montreal. While the dining atmosphere is generally considered clean and welcoming, with several reviews highlighting the friendly and professional staff, others report significant concerns regarding inconsistent food quality, excessive saltiness, and occasionally long wait times. Opinions on pricing are divided, as some patrons find the meals to be reasonable for the quality provided, while others perceive the portions as small and expensive for what is essentially fast food. Despite some complaints about side dishes like fries and understaffing during busy hours, many visitors consider the restaurant a reliable spot for a quick and satisfying bite in the city core.

I recommend the chicken sandwich-it's one of the best in Montreal 😊 But for the price, it's a bit small. I also really liked the fries quality

Too expensive for what it is, quality is low & not that flavorful

Nice ambience & staff.

Food is not worth the money. Ingredients felt cheap (the bun, crinkle fries & mushrooms) & the patty was disappointing in terms of taste. The burger all together felt thin. The poutine was fine but not worth the extra amount. I don't mind small portions but the quality was worse than expected. Can't recommend since you can find better burgers for the same price a block away.

Yumi Burger is an absolute must-visit for burger lovers! The quality & presentation of their food are top-notch. The crispy chicken sandwich with creamy slaw is perfectly balanced, while the juicy beef burger with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, & fresh lettuce is packed with flavor. The loaded poutine, topped with rich gravy, cheese curds, & savory merguez, is the perfect indulgence. Every bite bursts with taste, & the attention to detail is clear. If you're looking for a delicious, satisfying meal, this spot is a winner!

Yumi Burger in Montreal had been on our radar for a while, thanks to the glowing reviews on Google & its convenient location near the Royal Ontario Museum. Naturally, we decided to give it a try, eager to see if it lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations, leaving us somewhat disappointed by what we encountered. Let's start with the pricing. While we understand that dining out can sometimes be costly, the prices here felt unjustified given the quality & quantity of the food. A Beyond Meat vegetarian burger priced at $25 seemed excessive, especially when compared to similar offerings at other restaurants. Beyond Meat burgers are increasingly common, & while the concept is great for vegetarians & plant-based eaters, we expected something special to justify the premium price. Unfortunately, the burger was just average-nothing extraordinary in terms of flavor, texture, or presentation. It didn't feel worth the price tag. The fries that came with the meal were another disappointment. They seemed undercooked, lacking the crispiness one expects from a good side of fries. Instead, they had a slightly soggy texture that made them feel unappetizing. This was particularly surprising since fries are usually a highlight at burger joints, & their preparation should be straightforward. A simple dish like fries can often elevate a meal, but in this case, they detracted from the overall experience. While the food left much to be desired, the ambience of the restaurant was cozy & welcoming. It had a casual vibe, which could make it a nice spot for kids or young people to hang out. The setting might work well for those looking for a quick meal in a relaxed environment. However, for those seeking quality food that matches the price, this might not be the right choice. One positive aspect of our visit was the service. The person at the front was polite & kind, ensuring that we were served promptly & with a smile. Good customer service always makes a difference, & we appreciated the effort of the staff to create a pleasant experience despite the shortcomings of the food. In conclusion, while Yumi Burger has its charm as a cozy hangout spot, it doesn't quite live up to the hype or justify its prices. The food was average at best, with the Beyond Meat burger & fries failing to impress. At $25 for a vegetarian burger, we expected something far more flavorful & unique. The undercooked fries added to our disappointment. For those who prioritize ambiance & are looking for a casual place to relax, Yumi Burger might be a decent option. However, if you're seeking great value & exceptional taste, this might not be the place for you. While the staff was kind & welcoming, the food simply didn't match our expectations. For now, I'd say it's worth exploring other burger joints in Montreal that offer better quality & value for the price.

I had a trio cheese burger double & I think taste wise, it's is a sold 3.5/5. When we're talking about presentation & the size of the burger I think it's a 3/5. Very clean & good spot for Muslim's to eat at with their families, 5/5. It's a good spot to quickly grab some lunch or dinner for you & your family but I think their quality could use some work as in using just a tad bit less grease. Definitely would eat again!!! i like the exotic drinks they had... 10/10

Pros: the burgers are so soft & tasty, I would eat so many in one sitting if I could, the texture is so comforting & the ingredients add a nice freshness. Quality dipping sauces with unique crinkle fries, & there is an option to sit on the patio in the summertime. Cons: we were surprised to see that the combos came with a very small fry, like enough to fit in one hand. For the price we expected a bigger fry portion. Also after eating our burgers we were still hungry after. The meal wasn't too filling & left us wanting more. Great food nonetheless, it's just a matter of portion size

This has to be theee best Smash burger in MTL!!! & probably one of the best in Canada!!! Not exaggerating The quality & taste of the meat CAN NOT get any better for that price!! & The buns is excellent These guys know what theyre doing & theyre open till 3-4AM !!!!!!!!! Which is very appreciated that they can make this happen in MTL when you could almost never find anything else open that late & that good, its only junk food thats open that late usually so thank you for making that happen! If you are a TRUEEE burger lover who knows how to eat a proper burger & who appreciates the simplicity of it as it should be, & focus on the quality & taste, then this would be a burger that you will never forget! I approached the owner & spoke to him he had a big smile on his face when i gave him the compliment & he was very humble about it The only thing that i did not maybe like so much was the jump of price when an ingredient or two were added but again for the QUALITY & TASTE & fact that theyre open till 3-4am!! Makes it worth it.
