I've had my fair share of letdowns when it comes to Peruvian food in Montreal, especially those places on Saint-Hubert Av. But Villa Wellington in Verdun is one exception you won't want to miss.
Let's cut to the chase: Lomo Saltado here is pretty darn decent. The beef is flavorful & comes with a generous portion of crispy fries & rice-just like back home.
The Seco con Frejoles & Choritos a la Chalaca are also solid choices, each with a comforting, home-style vibe that's hard to find in this city.
Prices? Totally fair, especially considering the generous portions. You'll leave full & happy without feeling like you've overpaid.
The vibe is cozy & unpretentious-definitely a family-run spot that feels authentic. Service is friendly, even when the place gets busy (& it does-so book ahead!).
I'll definitely be back for another round of Lomo Saltado-& maybe next time, I'll finally try the Piqueo Wellington sampler!
Not perfect, but for Montreal, this is as close as it gets for Peruvian comfort food. It's worth it!
The food was excellent as always, the server however came to our table about six times to see if we were ok, & we weren't even there 1 hour, it was very apparent that they wanted us to eat & leave fast. Usually it is not like that but possibly they were overbooked, we didn't enjoy our suppe
Good food
Great taste, good portions, the pulpo a la Oliva was great, & the lomo saltado. We also ordered calamari entrée & was very good!
We decided to visit this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day, & it turned out to be an excellent choice. The dishes served were absolutely delicious, offering a genuine & authentic Peruvian cuisine that really impressed us.
We genuinely look forward to returning in the future & enjoying another wonderful meal. Without a doubt, we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic & satisfying Peruvian cuisine!
My favorite Peruvian food since my first time in 1998. Ceviche is sublime
Great food, sometimes slow & cramped would recommend honestly, don't recommend their Pisco sour if your use to traditional though
