Bem-vindos a Viana! Antonio & Celeste Da Costa from a small village in Northern Portugal, were inspired by the idea of crossing the ocean to create a better life for themselves and their children. They immigrated to Canada in 1978 and settled in Lasalle borough in the early 1980s. In 1984 their son, Carlos Costa began working at one of Montreal's finest landmarks, Jano Grillades. He worked there for close to 30 years and acquired deeply rooted knowledge of Portuguese cuisine. Carlos and his son Fabio shared a passion for hard work and the food service industry. Along with the help and support of his wife Ines and daughter Vanessa, they decided as a family that they would embark on a passion project which would allow them to fulfill a lifelong dream. As proud Luso-Canadians, Fabio and Vanessa were inspired by their father's hometown Viana do Castelo, where they vacationed every summer. Viana is an homage to their heritage, and a place where they are able to share and multiply the love they have for their culture. Obrigado!

Calamar grillé, riz & sauce spécial Viana c est a mourir c était terrible je ne pouvais pas m'arrêter & la portion était tellement généreuse que j'ai été au sens premier du terme repu, comblé par les saveurs, abasourdi par la qualité des calamars grillés & complètement séduit & comblé par la combinaison des saveurs. This was a beautiful & cozy atmosphere that had a great vibe for families to enjoy a meal, or for friends to grab a drink & chill. My wife & I got hungry while taking a walk at Parc Angrignon & decided to pay this place a visit. We were not disappointed. The quality of the food was amazing. I had some friends raving about this restaurant so I had to try it for myself. I went there around 7:30 the other night & was welcomed with open arms by the friendly staff. The decor was nice & very welcoming as well as the comfortable seating. I ended up meeting the owner Andy from my friend & I gotta say what a nice & overall genuine guy from the second you interact with him. Soon after the food started to come out & OMG, first plater & every single one afterwards was out of this world delicious! See for yourself in the pictures how the food comes to life & presentation was beautiful! Everything was served fresh, tasty & the meat was so unbelievably juicy that I had to refrain myself from licking my fingers at the table lol. We had some special items for that night but it was truly an unforgettable dining experience. The meat was cooked to perfection! The lamb & steak blew my mind & made me go back for seconds & a third serving too! The rice & salad mix was equally good & gobbled up in an instant. Spices were balanced just right & not overpowering. Staff was helpful & super nice & did not ignore you like most of the other restaurants, which in this case, made my first experience here even better! I can go on & on about how great it was but you will need to go see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely keep going & already planning my next visit for next week to indulge in another mouth watering feast. Authentic Portuguese food at its finest & I rate it a 10 on 10.
