The selection of music is top notch, the vibe is awesome & their bartender Erin is the GOAT. I went out tonight after a long time of not socializing & she made me feel welcome & seen as a human being. She didn't do anything special but she was just a really cool individual to kick it with even if just for a few seconds here & there. Great place for a solo night out & comfy enough to take a date, would definitely visit again sometime in the future!
Loved every part of my night here. Food & drinks were delicious. Service was great. Music was good, not too loud, just enough to speak comfortably over. Definitely recommended!
I've gone to Typhoon a few times, most recently in February on a Friday evening with friends, & the vibes were good: the music & lighting were perfect for an intimate round of pints & conversation. Prices were fair, & the draft selection was adequate. The service was quick & friendly, & overall we enjoyed ourselves.
The food was a little disappointing. While the prices & portions were fine, the quality was underwhelming.
I like Typhoon for a satisfying pint & fun times with friends, & it's a solid neighbourhood bar overall.
our group has been having a hard time getting consistently good wings so we tried typhoon lounge & their wings are delicious they're fried though, so if you're avoiding flour rip I got my my wings plain & I highly recommend it, they do their wings so well here getting your sauce on the side is preferable if you like things staying crispy honestly between diablos & brass door these are much more ideal wings & our group of seven agreed the'suicide sauce' is actually a very nice blend on the vinegary side, it doesn't overheat you & is also tasty. the cocktails are pretty good but gentle, it's the pints that shine. the service is great, & sober! (looking at you brass door) the whiskey wagon here is great with big portions atmosphere: I personally loved the whiplash of billy idol & the cure going to 2010s laval stripper music but it felt odd to eat wings to at some points we'll be back again
My visit to this bar was a departure from my usual haunts, which was a refreshing change. I attended a work event & we reserved a section near the entrance. The ambiance is that of a casual hangout spot; nothing too fancy, so no need to dress up. The layout includes a terrace & a basement bar accessed via stairs. Drinks are reasonably priced, with beers going for around $8. While my vodka Redbull was a bit weak on the alcohol content, the Saint-Germain spritz & Moscow mule were decent choices. I'd recommend sticking to beer here. Most people mainly ordered burgers & fries, served generously. The music started off poorly but improved as the night went on (commerical/mainstream music). They also had basketball games playing on the TVs, which was a nice touch. Street parking is available nearby. The service at the bar was excellent; the bartender was friendly & quick to serve our drinks. However, the table service was a bit lacking, with the waitress being somewhat slow. Overall, a decent spot for a casual night out.
Service was great! We were a big group & service can be problematic with staff shortages but we were very well attended to. Drinks & food were great! Music was spot on too!
Been going to Typhoon for years, but haven't been in a solid 6-8 months. Went in with some friends to watch the Habs, & was told after the game had started, that unless it's playoffs, they won't turn the music off & put the game volume on. Seriously That's news to me. Food great as always. 3-stars cuz of the BS excuse about the game. Won't be going back to watch a game there any time soon.
