It's been a while since I've had a meal this memorable. We were two people sharing the cod & the sharing menu. The cod melted in my mouth like butter, it was cooked to perfection.
The maki & nigiri were top quality & fresh. We tried about 4 dishes & everything was made with so much love & attention to detail. The flavors blended really nicely together & overall the ambience of the restaurant was intimate & welcoming.
I can't wait to go back to Tri!
Best sushi in Montreal, it's the only place I eat sushi. Decently priced & consistently the same quality & flavour. I've been going to Tri express since it opened 20 years ago, unfortunately the service has been getting worse & worse with time, hence why I typically do take out only. There is one waitress who seems to hate her job & looks miserable at all times. She's unwelcoming & rude, not sure why she's still there
Stepping into Tri Express feels like slipping through a hidden portal. The place itself is truly special, beautifully decorated with antique, vintage pieces inspired by the marine world. It's unique in a way that makes you want to slow down & take it all in.
The atmosphere is warm & inviting, & the service matches it perfectly. The staff are friendly, attentive. The table setup is thoughtfully done, yet simple.
Now, the food… honestly, amazing. You can taste the freshness in every bite. The menu offers a great variety, & the combinations are both creative & well-balanced. The sushi stands out, the rice is just perfect in both thickness & quality, so you don't feel overly full, just satisfied.
My absolute favorites were the salmon tartare, the lobster tartare & the maki de saison tri, incredibly fresh & full of flavor. We also started with a sashimi nouveau style topped with apple & a special sauce, which was a really nice & refreshing touch. Even the presentation of each dish was on point.
As for the price, it's very reasonable considering the quality & quantity you get. & just to clarify, the total you see on the bill was for one person, while we were actually two dining.
Overall, Tri Express is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. Definitely a place I'd come back to.
The sashimi was excellent & the tri-lobster, too. Good wine selection & recommendations. Hit that spot of quality, price, & cool. Staff was very professional.
First time here - wonderful experience. Restaurant is very quaint. Had the omakase menu for two. Great variety of dishes & great quality. Some of the best sushi I've had. Sushi pizza is a must!
The dishes are always very fresh & of top quality & never disappointing. However, the staff could improve their customer service. They seem annoyed by our presence & can be quite brusque when serving the table. Improving the service would make the overall experience much better.
Decent sushi, but a bit pricey for the quality & portion, subpar service.
Parties who were seated after us got their orders taken & were served before us. The server kept passing us without acknowledging our presence.
One of my favorite places in Montreal. Excellent sushi, reasonable prices for the quality, & the service is always great. A simple & unique atmosphere makes it the perfect place for a date night or a night out with friends.
It's always a great experience. This place has been there since 2006 & the food has the exact the same quality, taste & flavour. It's fantastic, I love it. I don't suggest driving as it'll be hard to park. They got very good orange & white wines. Everyone is super friendly & service turns fast. Highly recommend it.
