I came here for valentine's day & was very impressed with the food. It is very flavourful, playful, & well presented. We got the anchovy toast, the tuna tostada, the half roasted chicken, the patatas bravas, & the churro. The anchovy toast was banging, the tuna tostada was really amazing, patatas bravas... you can't go wrong with them. However, the half roasted chicken I was slightly disappointed with. Given the fact that this chicken was the precursor for the whole restaurant I was surprised it was a bit dry. Flavour-wise it was very yummy, the skin was delicious, but the meat itself felt like it had been stuck in the oven a bit too long. Finally, the churro was GREAT! But.. slow to arrive, more on that below.
Now onto the service. I realize that we went on a relatively busy night, but the food came out unbelievably inconsistently. The servers were very charming, & definitely made me feel better about the wait, but it was just strange. The first two dishes came out super quickly. I'm talking within 10 minutes of us ordering. However, the chicken & patatas bravas probably took another 40 minutes to come. Finally, when we ordered the churros for dessert (which mind you are a quickly deep fried dish) it took another 20 minutes. Luckily, the company was lovely so the wait didn't feel so bad, however, if I was going any other time, or if I wasn't wanting to spend 2 hours there, I would have been quite disappointed.
Finally, the ambiance was very nice. Much more relaxed than their sister restaurant Alma. I think overall a 4/5 is a reasonable rating, & I would definitely go again, but maybe for a quick bite & a nice glass of wine.View more
Spanish inspired tapas style restaurant & wine bar. The service was great, & our host was very attentive & courteous, however the dishes were a hit or miss. The ceviche & tuna tostada were the highlight, but the mussels & patatas bravas were a bit disappointing. Also the prices for some the dishes are on the higher side & portions were tiny. I would recommend this restaurant is you want to enjoy a few glasses if wine & not planning on eating a big meal. They also have a huge selection of wine to choose from.View more
Nous sommes souvent allés à ce restaurant. Ça a toujours été une cuisine à forte inspiration catalane. La dernière fois nous avons été un peu déçus, il semblerait qu'ils ont tourné vers le mexicain. C'était étrange car en plus le serveur essayait vraiment fort de nous convaincre que ça avait toujours été comme ça, je ne suis pas d'accord, il n'a qu'à regarder le nom du restaurant où il travaille. Même leur plat signature, le poisson cru, qui est une des raisons pourquoi nous y retournons, avait des petits goûts d'épices qui changeaient totalement l'expérience en bouche & je ne l'ai plus du tout trouvé intéressant. Je vous passe les tortillas & les graines de maïs séchées (en décoration) qui accompagnent désormais tous les plats. Nous avons demandé à la gentille serveuse de nous apportez sur notre table ce qu'elle voulait. Nous avons mangé comme des rois. C'était frais & délicieux. Ce restaurant est spécialisé avec des vins nature & nous avons été très satisfait. Bravo à tousView more
One of my favorite places currently for a delicious yet casual delivery of high-quality dishes with an exciting selection of Catalan, natural wines. The service is kind, but I find it a bit too pushy at times, repeatedly asking whether we wish to order more. I can understand a tapas menu indeed calling for repeated orders, but I would encourage management to relieve a bit of this pressure & trust their customers will order more as they feel compelled to do so by the overall atmosphere & relaxed mood of the place.View more

One of my husband & I's favourite restaurants in Montreal! The food is always on point & tasty (hello tostada), the atmosphere is cozy & laidback, & the service is so friendly! We always feel welcomed when we come dine. You can tell people come back often because the owners (chef Juan & wine expert Lindsay) always greet regulars like old friends. This place never misses! Tinc set est définitivement un de mes go to, il est facile d'y avoir une table & on est jamais déçu. Le service est toujours excellent, la bouffe & le vin également. Maintenant, je dois vous parler des churros....les meilleurs que j'ai mangé de toute ma vie, vraiment! J'y pense quand même assez régulièrement. Had a great time at Tinc Set on a Saturday evening with a group of 6. Milan took really good care of us & the food was delicious. We tried many of the tapas, as well as, all of the mains & sides. Wine was really good & the churros were bomb! Definitely recommend visiting & tasting as many of the dishes as you can!View more
