The Wheel Club is a unique and historic live music venue located in Montreal's NDG borough. Cherished by music fans all over the globe, it plays host to artists of all styles of music. It is also home to Montreal's longest running open mic night - Hillbilly Night - which brings together 3 generations of Country and Bluegrass music fans together each Monday. Its original decor from the days when it was a veteran's club is still in tact, yet modernized for today's artists and crowds. Stellar sound, unpretentious decor, great artistry, pool/pinball/darts/80s video games and good people are what make the Wheel Club a unique and nostalgic experience in Montreal. Also available for party rentals.
Reviews describe The Wheel Club as a cozy, rough around the edges Montreal venue with a welcoming, family vibe where live music, dancing, and affordable drinks create a consistently lively night out. The space feels like a hidden gem with nostalgic charm and a strong sense of community, offering a range of events from easygoing vibe evenings to karaoke, open mic nights, and tribute shows. Some notes mention layout tweaks to free up space and occasional questions about live versus recorded tracks, but overall the atmosphere and performances are praised for energy and character. The place is commonly seen as a great spot for local music with friendly staff and a vibe that invites returning, dancing, and socializing.
Did not know about this place, but I'm glad I discovered it by accident. The live music is amazing. The people are so nice, friendly, happy & amazing. The snacks are also pretty good. My wife tried the drinks. I did not have any, but she said that it was good as well. We will be back next weekend for some more music & fun.
Finally!! Got to the long running (60 years) Monday night event,' Hillbilly Night'
Do not get dissuaded by the name, basically it seems it is music especially Country & Bluegrass oldies but goodies that were all recorded prior to 1969.
Where else can you be entertained by sometimes 10 amazing musicians at once, some changing instruments a few times & most passing on the mike after a set of 2 or 3 songs! BRILLIANT 👏 🎶 💙
OH, & that's just Monday's, the rest of the week varies from Karaoke ,Tribute Bands or solo performances. 🎶 🎵
Nice little place with an older crowd. Prices are absurd… cheapest beer is 8$ for a 355ml Sleeman or 9$ for a pint (591ml) of Sleeman. Time moves slowly at this place.
A little gem, with plenty of nostalgia. The place has so much potential. Some minor updates & refreshing, get rid of the round tables just regular tables would free up so much more space.
Went for the 70s live band - great vibes overall

Great place for live music at affordable prices! Love the artist & the vintage vibe! Excellent shows as saw Elton Songs & Bee Gees cover band! Hats off to Cyndi who does a great job!
Vendredi soir nous sommes allés voir le spectacle BEE GEES TRIBUTE -YOU SHOULD BE DANCING.
Just FINALLY came here for the first time, & i'm so happy i did!! I was served by Cyndi & Maggie, & I had the best night ever. I can't wait to come back here again! Montreals best hidden gem!
Great music at a dive bar.
Pinball machines flippers didn't work on one & the other stole my 1$ a few times so beware of that. Decent place to see a local show.
