About

THAILAND -- what comes to your mind when thinking about THAILAND? Is it the temple, the local market, the crazy nightlife, or the Thai smile?!

For me, it is PLAIN SIMPLE: THAI STREET FOOD! Just the ordinary comfort food next to the street - the smell of curries, the colourful dishes with perfect spices, and the wok skill of local vendors.

THAM.MA.DA, a Thai word used to describe something ordinary or simple, is a casual dining cuisine serving ordinary but authentic Thai street dishes. As well as Thai inspired drinks that will bring the “ordinary but extraordinary” vibes, the “same same, but different” food on the plate for you to EXPERIENCE.

Come enjoy a fun night in Thailand with us!

Review Summary

Thammada offers an authentic and flavorful Thai dining experience in a cozy, welcoming setting that many guests find perfect for a date or a casual neighborhood meal. The menu features standout dishes like the pad thai, khao soi, and beef stir-fry, which are consistently praised for their fresh ingredients and well-balanced spices. While most visitors appreciate the warm ambiance and friendly staff, experiences regarding service speed and portion sizes can vary, as some diners have noted longer wait times during busy periods or felt the dishes were priced on the higher side. Despite these occasional observations, the restaurant remains a popular destination for those seeking traditional Thai cuisine, with many patrons eager to return for the vibrant flavors and the inviting atmosphere on the terrace.

Fantastic food & super friendly staff! Every dish I tried was delicious, but the fried rice had to be a favourite

Thamada is a great spot for date night in Montreal. The vibe is cool & relaxed, & the service was excellent. We loved the mango salad , satay skewers & the stir-fried beef with basil, chili, jasmine rice, & a crispy fried egg . Everything was delicious & well balanced. Dessert was just as good, We had the Thai roti with vanilla ice cream. A really enjoyable meal from start to finish

Disappointed that there was no sticky rice - what is Thai food without sticky rice? Italian places never run out of pasta, do they? Greek restaurants always have souvlaki, right? Chalet BBQ always has chicken..., so what gives? Not acceptable!

Simple menu, which I prefer. I am not thai but I have tried many thai restaurants & I did order few times from here & we ate at the restaurant too. For desserts, mango sticky rice is good but their Roti with ice cream is very good!

We ordered papaya salad & chicken wings for appetizers, Beef Panang curry & Kha Prao Moo for main & roti for dessert. The food was overall good, but we were disappointed by menu that has been reduced & changed for some reasons. I was expecting to have more variations as per the menu found on their website, but the actual menu was much smaller. I especially wanted to try their dumplings & Khao Soi, both were not there anymore. Neither was mango sticky rice (this one was probably removed because of the season). So I'd recommend you to inform yourself of the currently available menu before going. Another downside was the waiting time between the appetizers & the main menu. We waited for about a half an hour after finishing the first 2 plates. They did a nice little birthday surprise for my boyfriend though, thanks a lot!

The food is great here but I recommend just ordering delivery because from the second you walk in it is chaotic, even if you made a reservation before. The staff was on edge & stressed which didn't help the experience. The drinks & appetizers take longer than the main courses to come out so if you do eat here be sure not to order your main course at the same time as your drinks or appetizers. I'm also not sure why they removed the rice from the Pad Kha Prao, so now you have to order additional rice on the side & also they removed the spring rolls which were the best in Montreal in my opinon.

green curry good, pad see ew was good but also tasted kind of chemically. $4 for a bowl of rice is extortionate. portions small for price, took 30-40 min for two main plates to come out
