We ate at Terracotta our first night in Montreal & it did not disappoint! We got a table right away, the server was fantastic; she was kind, helpful, & gave really great recommendations. We ordered the mechouia salad to share & then my husband got the fruits de mer (seafood) gargoulette & loved it, I got the poulet (chicken) ojja which I also loved but it was very spicy so make sure you're up for that!
The only downside of our experience is we were seated next to their trash (maybe recycling?) bins & it got a little smelly at times. The food & cheerful waitress made this easy to overlook but it was a bummer especially when dining.View more
View more
The best restaurant of our entire trip! They made us feel like family, & the food was divine. This is a must-try. Definitely try the octopus salad as the octopus is cooked to absolute heavenly perfection. Terracotta is the best!View more
Tunisia was once a French colony, so the cuisine is also deeply influenced by French cuisine. Lamb is a'meat with personality', either you like it or you hate it, there is no middle zone. The clay pot lamb is great, with plenty of ingredients & full of flavor. Tunisian shrimp brik is similar to Taiwan's oyster omelette, which is made with shrimps & soft-boiled eggs, then wrapped in pancakes, salty & delicious.View more
Terracotta is the best North African restaurant in the city. The food is extremely well prepared & the service is fantastic. The food is distinctly different from Moroccan cuisine. They have some really interesting specials on the menu. The food is cooked to perfection. We were surprised at how flavourful the vegetables were. I highly recommend this restaurant!View more

We stumbled upon Terracotta on a Monday evening, wandering around this fantastic neighborhood. I can't say enough good things about the restaurant. We were new to Tunisian cuisine & were excited for a new experience. It did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious - everything we ordered was so good with very big servings & the service was outstanding - our waitstaff were attentive, informative & friendly. I would highly recommend this spot. We will definitely be back.View more

What an experience. If you're looking for something new & original, this restaurant is a must try. Chefs directly from Tunisia, the food makes you travel & gives you a real experience.
Everything was delicious but the highlights for me were the terracotta lamb, the octopus salad, the ojja & the kafteji. My husband had the seafood terracotta which he said was unreal, I just prefer meat.
This is a summer must try, especially with their beautiful terrace.View more

One of the best restaurants we have tried in a while! Delicious food, I highly recommend the gargoulette & the octopus salad. The service was very friendly, they explained the different dishes to us & provided recommendations. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!View more
Can't believe google didn't recommend this place. Tucked away on a side street, had a nice vibe (with indoor & outdoor seating options), friendly staff, & lovely food. The aesthetic might strike you as italian on first blush, but it is Tunisian. Food is phenomenal & filling!View more
One of the best dining experiences! The food was delicious just what we needed after a long day of walking. The owner was so kind & attentive! They explained every dish to us & made sure we were well-fed & taken care of :) Would absolutely return!View more
Terracotta is easily the most phenomenal dining experience I've ever had in Montreal. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth & genuine hospitality. Aside from the warm atmosphere & phenomenal food, it is the co-owner that made this experience one my friend & I won't forget. He personally sat down with us & shared stories & insights about Tunisia - his passion, kindness, & generosity made us feel completely at home despite being so far away. Will be coming back everytime I'm in montreal!! :)View more
I had the Ojja & my husband had the kafteji. Our meals were excellent, unlike any ordinary dinner. We sat outside on a peaceful street near the hubbub of the Rue Saint Laurent & enjoyed the lovely music of the Oud. The staff & proprietor made us feel welcome & they seemed genuinely pleased to share their cuisine with us.View more
Great food, the staff was exceptionally kind :) We nibbled on a pretty spicy pepper which was an experience but the food tasted really great!View more
