Went there for the first and last time. Food was too sweet, all three dishes (chicken, shrips and lamb) that I have ordered with my two friends. Very disapointed. Believe me we went to 5 other indian restaurant and have a great idea about it. Good thing it was clean and confy.
The food was way too sweet, small dish and pricey. Cozy and clean restaurant.
Very small restaurant that is cozy. I was there on a week night and only a handful of pther people were there at the same time. The food and service was excellant - I would happily return!
J'aime: service, repas, personel tout etait top
The food was excellent. The prices are reasonable.
The service was however lackluster. The waiters seemed reluctant to bring the coffee and dessert that went with the table d'hôte.
I would not recommend this restaurant for larger parties.
Excellentes saveurs.
Je suis retournée ce weekend (fév. 2014). Un vrai régal! À découvrir!
I had heard good things about this restaurant so I went with one of my friends. The food was very good, fresh and warm. However, do not go there with a hearty appetite. The main course serving is the size of and appetizer. It's a little pricy for the portion you get. But the food is very good.
Just a lovely little Indian restaurant in a quiet old building in the Old Port. Really excellent food and good service. I ate too much because it was all so good.
The food was excellent. Everyone at the table enjoyed the various kitchen specialties, curry plates, and appetizers (samosas and mixed grill plate) that we had ordered. Of particular note was the butter chicken, which had an almost butterscoth taste to it, and the lamb curry sag, which had a very impressive balance of heat and savory elements, and of course the homemade Naan bread. We finished the evening with spice and chai tea, both of which were delicious. None of the plates felt overpowered with seasoning and were very well balanced and well executed.
The wine list was also of interest. The prices were much lower than I had expected relative to some of the bottles on the list and also considering the location of the restaurant (old-montreal usually demands a much higher mark-up on wine than say mile end or the plateau). Finding a bottle of 2005 Christian Moeuix Merlot at much less of a markup (was $33 on the menu, whereas a 2008 of the same produce is $17 at the SAQ) than I was expecting was a very pleasant surprise.
The only hitch to the evening was the speed and warmth of the service. There were only two other tables that had patrons. Three hours passed between our being seated and our departure and water glasses often sat empty on our table for extended periods of time. However, this was the only blemish on an otherwise excellent experience.
